  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

Can we go back to the prior format?

I had to go back to "Posts" because I had the same issue with "Last Activity". Posts takes me to the new posts in threads if I click the double arrow.

As one who has run forum software for a long time... I feel the pain you are all having. But like it was said before, vBulletin 4 was at its end of life so they needed to upgrade. With vB there is always a cost. This software is not free. Any upgrades and MODs are not free as well.

This is a massive board, with massive amounts of users... But there are only a few people that actually implement these types of changes. Likely one or two people. It's summer... The college hockey "offseason"... This is the perfect time to make these kind of changes and use that time to iron the problems out before the season starts up again.

So be patient and things will get tweaked over time.

Well Holy crap Jup is here! [insert shocked face here]

I think purple would be less abhorred if the moderator we all know stopped by to communicate with us.

This sounds just like something the man would say. : )

Who actually are the moderators?

Another comment.... the ads make the mobile version almost unusable.

Click the underlined A next to the smiley face on the top on the right side of the reply box. (in the green field) It toggles it off and on.

Since we seem to be stuck with ads now, couldn't they at least tailor them to the poster? I have gone into the ad choices link, but I still get ads for irrelevant things like stores which are not in the east and women's clothing. (I am not a cross-dresser. :-D )

Peoples signatures also really disrupt the mobile version. (Sometimes I find myself starting reading the sigs instead of the posts)

Even after trying to get used to this for a while i still give it two thumbs down.

Soon after the update (or should i say downdate?), I turned off signatures. In addition, i used to check the box in posts to not include my own signature except in rare situations. Now there is no such box. :-(

Dumb question - "how" or why do posts pre-update translate twitter links into the proper visual while new posts cannot? You'd think it would be all or nothing.

I had the same thought the day after the "update", but since it was a dumb question, i didn't ask. :-p ;-)

The old pages may be cached on your device - phone, laptop, etc, which could be permitting the old tweets to appear directly. Feel free, anybody, to correct me on that.

No dice on that, I cleared my caches yesterday and the tweets still show up embedded.

At first the 10 thread per page limit didn't bug me but every time I have to move multiple pages to find a thread which I posted to earlier on the same day my urge to kill rises. It's now at a 3.

I'm afraid by Valentine's Day you'll have seen me on the news.
