Bald and Bankrupt - Brit who travels on the cheap and films/edits his own adventures. Speaks fairly fluent Russian and visits a lot of former Soviet republics. Regardless of where he goes, he usually sticks to the small villages that many would call sh*tholes and finds locals to chat with. Has also hiked through the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone to visit a couple people still eking out an existence there, was kicked out of Mauritania for filming without permission, and nearly died of COVID earlier this year, so for all we know his next trip could be his last. :-p

Epicurious - I enjoy their "4 Levels of ____" food videos where a rank amateur, a foodie, and a professional chef all make their version of the same dish and then get evaluated at the end by a food scientist.

And I'll second Oversimplified, that guy's take on history is hilarious and I wish he had the time and resources to make more videos. "To the guillotine!"

I love Boho Beautiful channel, it's about yoga and wellness. Also, I lie watch some financial tips from traders or financial couches.

Some of these are great. They're owned by Conde Nast (who also owns Bon Appetit) so they got caught up in that scandal this summer and their output dropped significantly.

I mostly just search out some brit stuff on the tube.

8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown
Would I Lie To You
Mock of the Week
British standup
Michael McIntyre's Big Show

Then some random other stuff. No subs.

Music
Video games
Stand up comedy

I got a new look at YouTube. I bought myself a Samsung Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and now the music played with new notes and became much more interesting. Still, a high-quality sound system is important! I found my soundbar here and I'm very happy!

I don't really follow or subscribe to much but I do watch:

Babish Culinary Universe
Natural Habitat Shorts
Brewstew
Ozzy Man Reviews

And I use YouTube to watch Red Green at night when/if I am struggling to fall asleep

Hate to admit it, but I gradually stopped watching Contrapoints during the pandemic when her content increasingly turned into video essays of feature film length. I'm sure some of them are fascinating, intelligent, and even funny at times. I simply do not have the time to sit through a 90+ minute niche YT production anymore. Or maybe I miss the days when she'd analyze & debunk both fascist and leftist calls to violence in a neat 20-30 minute segment involving sketches of various caricatures (like Tabby the Transgender Tankie Cat) she developed and played.

I feel obligated to make the comment that while I still am a very regular youtube watcher, Google has really made the platform so much more terrible with its aggressive monetization and algorithms designed to maximize revenue.
