Re: Your school's All-Time Team (D-I and D-III alike!)
Well, I'll take a crack on the Minnesota teams... and I'm just going to have to go pretty much by the record books.
First Team
F - Krissy Wendell ('05)
F - Natalie Darwitz ('05)
F - Nadine Muzerall ('01)
D - Winny Brodt ('03)
D - Anne Schleper ('12)
G - Noora Räty ('13)
Second Team
F - Kelly Stephens ('05)
F - Ambria Thomas ('01)
F - Gigi Marvin ('09)
D - Courtney Kennedy ('01)
D - Megan Bozek ('13)
G - Jody Horak ('05)
I am going to give a honorable mention goaltender shout-out to Erica Killewald ('01), who held the all-time team record for shutouts until Räty broke it. I really had trouble deciding between Killewald and Horak for the second team, but Horak currently holds the team wins record and had a better goals-against average.
I also had trouble not including some other key contributors from the past few years -- Bobbi Ross, Emily West, and Jen Schoullis -- on these lists. But I couldn't get around the fact that Stephens and Thomas are part of the 200-point club, and were first and second in the team's all-time plus-minus ratings. The only one of the six forwards not in the 200-point club is Marvin, and she had 195.
I will say that, while I can't put Amanda Kessel on the list currently, she may displace Marvin in the near future. The question with Kessel is whether or not she will come back for her senior season after the 2014 Olympics (assuming that she makes US squad); even if she doesn't, she still may make the second team.
For the defenders, it was a bit easier. Brodt, Schleper, and Kennedy make up the 100-point club, and Bozek will likely join them before the winter break next season. 'Nuff said.
