Ack. The Phil and Paul commentary is painful. They just spent 10 minutes talking about how Purito being dropped is a surprise and devistating to his GC chances then proceed to mention that its OK that Horner got dropped because he's recovering from injury. ITS THE SAME WITH PURITO!
Then there was the NBCSC add from a Brit perspective that made Froome seem like the 2nd coming (everything I've read or seen of the man contradicts that) and then take a random shot at Alberto that was uncalled for. Why is it when I can actually watch something on TV I get stuck with these stooges. (Also enough with the Voigt worship, I like him too, but enough) /rant.
What was the shot at Contador?
They showed Froome and said something like the defending champion must face the 3 time winner (and showed Conti walking up the podium) then paused and said, no make that a 2 time winner because he cheated and the video rewound and showed him walking down the podium.
I know he doped but that seemed unnecessary.
I noticed they didn't mention anything about the two admitted dopers they had in their studio I guess that was okay. It looks like they are going starting to phase Phil and Paul out gradually as so far this year they go back and forth between them and Bob, Christian and the other guy in the studio which they've never done in the past Roll and whoever the studio guy is have only done the replay at night.
Tough break for Cav luckily I didn't pick him as my sprinter, surprising Nibali took the jersey I wonder how hard Astana will work to keep it.
To me they are total shills, especially for Pharmstrong. I admit that they are enthusiastic, but Carlton Kirby does that better. They are very poor, especially Phil at identifying riders and often create their own narratives and say things that are blatantly false. That's too bad. I really think Phil and Paul are some of the best announcers in sports.
Broke some ribs in the Ardennes, Amstel Gold I think, then crashed again in the Giro, which was his main goal for the season. His plan was an Ardennes/Giro peak then a second peak for the Vuelta. The crash at the Giro knocked him out of the race in the first couple of days. So his team sent him to the TDF to stage hunt and get form for the Vuelta. What's up with Purito this year?
I'm really hoping that tomorrow's stage doesn't disappoint. And I hope that finale is contested by Cancellara, Chavanel, VanMarcke, and Terpstra. That would mean it was attacking.
Ignoring the confusingly weak trolling by dx...
