On another note I see that good buddies Matczak and Rondeau have both joined the Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) of the AHL on ATOs. They will renew acquaintances with Harry Z, who is also on the Phantoms. It has to be strange for these college players to go from wanting to knock a guy's head off to playing with him, all in a matter of several weeks. Does anyone have any news on Broc Little's pro plans?

A friend told me that Broc may be involved with the Flyers organization soon

It seems that Keith is on top of this given that 4 defensemen are coming in. I agree that the offense should be okay, to me, the big question is between the pipes. The freshman sounds great.

I saw the OT of the UMD victory tonight. Nice game/outcome for them.

Colgate's Eric Mihalik played for Des Moines, the worst USHL team in 09-10 and had an under .90 save percentage and over 2.9 GAA, and RPI and Union saw his potential in the playoffs and Yale did at New Haven. Wilson could be very good.

Try creating a post that is relevant to what I said here. I comment about the Michigan-UND game and you turn it into yet another rant about Yale's schedule. Truly stupid.

Let's see if we can keep this to Yale's offseason. SOS has been beaten to death and I'll speak for a lot of ECAC people by saying that UMD played a great 4 games and deserved it. The more you watch UMD, the more you really like em - They play the game the right way. I saw Jack C interviewed during the semi and he seemed like a well-spoken, thoughtful, and selfless guy - made me like him more. I could go on and on about what I liked re UMD, but I hope that's enough for UMDs posters to leave this thread to the topic at hand. Congrats.

My question for Yalies is this - why does Yale seem to own Avon as a pipeline ? You always want to get the best "instate" players in any sport and Yale has been relatively good at this as far as Avon. As a Dartmouth guy, I couldn't help but notice that Yale had 2 NH guys - made me wonder ? Do we own St Paul's ? No. (Maybe all that time in NH or Hanover is not appealing (certainly for the guy who went to Hanover HS).)

I congratulated tUMD in their thread already, in the end I actually rooted for them, not wanting UM to win it's 9th title. Yale has lost to the eventual champ two years in a row:(

Are you talking about Avon Old Farms? I can't remember the last Yale kid from there. Arcobello and Backman were the last in state players from CT. Bourbonais is listed as a CT kid but he grew up in Michigan. In my one visit to Hanover, I found it to be a nice town, but looks can be deceiving I guess.I wish Yale would look at CT talent more closely, the Periera kid at UMass(Hockey East Rookie of the year runner up) is from my hometown of West Haven, it would have been nice if he and his brother Joe (ATO with Bridgeport) played for Yale.

Yale had 2 kids from AOF on the team this year, Trentowski and Peltz. Not sure what Peltz is going to turn into, I wasnt very impressed the only time he played this year against the Russians, but he did score in that game.

I had a few beers with Trentowski's mom and dad in Atlantic City, and Bridgeport, nice family who will be missed. I thought Peltz was better than advertised in the Russian game, pretty quick but small.

In '06-'07 Rob Madore was between the pipes for the Chicago Steel, one of (or maybe even the worst) team in the USHL, and had a 3.80 GAA and 0.903 Sv%. Not all that different from your incoming recruit. In his freshman year at Vermont Rob had a 2.35 GAA and 0.912 Sv% in a tough HE league. I remember thinking the same you are thinking right now about Rob. Sneddon was quoted as saying however regarding Rob that despite the poor stats Rob was ready and the ton of rubber he was seeing was actually a bonus. Turns out Sneddon was correct. I expect your incoming goaltender will be just fine once he gets on campus and be plenty capable of backstopping the team next year.

Thanks for the insight, I am sure they would not be looking at him if he did not have at least some talent. The Yale goalie situation next year will be very interesting, the whole corps is basically untested and knowing Allain he will have a wide open competition for the job.

Yale finished number six in both polls, considering the ugly finish, I think the pollsters got Yales ranking correct.

That isn't much different than the way this season started, is it? Back in October/November everyone was asking about the goalie situation.

Chris Higgins scored a goal for Vancouver tonight. As a Hawks fan, this does not make me very happy. But as a Yalie, I say good for him:)
