Blues hope AHL’s leading scorer can provide a punch

Following Saturday night’s season ending injury to Robby Fabbri, the Blues announced on Sunday morning that Magnus Paajarvi and Kenny Agostino had been recalled from AHL Chicago

Some good quotes here. http://www.stlouisgametime.com/2017/2/9/14562536/blues-seek-consistency-in-toronto

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Looks like Yale will most likely host a first round ECAC playoff as a 6 or 7 seed. This years ECAC tourney will be very tough within the bottom eight, I think the survivors might have a good chance against the 3-4 seeds. http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?116835-ECAC-Projected-Standings-2016-17

I would have to agree with you LTsatch regarding the winners of the 5-12 seeds having a good chance against 3-4 seeds provided one of them is NOT Hahvaard! They might be the class of the league.

Union may have something to say about that this weekend.

I was at Bridgeport watching O'Gara lose to Quinnipiac West in Bridgeport. Nice to see a come back on the road. Take careof business Sunday and it's a decent weekend.

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

A step backwards.....again. Despite the fact that Yale had plenty of opportunities, they just don't seem to have enough offensive firepower. Took too many penalties, too. 4 or 5 in a row at one point.

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Four games left and Yale has only beaten one of those four teams, although they played very well against Harvard. It's won't be easy to stay at or above .500

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

The penalties in the second took the game away, they never recovered. They are too thin on defense and just get worn down. They had some decent chances, but Finn got in front of enough pucks to keep the game pretty even when both teams were at full strength. Taggert always ruins Yale games, always has to insert himself.

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Classic trap scenario for Harvard tonight, lets hope Yale brings them back to earth.

Can Yale right the ship?

The best Yale can muster over the next two weekends is to move up to fifth place from its current position of seventh, which would provide a favorable first-round matchup at home in the opening round of the best-of-3 playoffs.

But with Princeton, Dartmouth and Colgate breathing down its neck the Bulldogs could easily fall into ninth and find themselves in an even more unfamiliar position — on the road for the opening round of the playoffs. That hasn’t happened since coach Keith Allain’s first season on the job 10 years ago.

It's been a difficult season for both teams that reside on Whitney Avenue.

That made good press in 2013, but Ingalls is on Sachem St. But I digress, unless QU or Yale somehow right the ship and win in Placid, it will be the first time in a while with no CT team at a regional, too bad.

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Missed the game last night, so I'm only going by the stats. I would have thought holding H to 20 shots would have meant a W.

On the other hand, another short handed goal against? And H had 7 power plays. Can't win giving a good offensive team that many chances

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Just nice to get a win.

If nothing else, Yale has played well against Dartmouth this year.

Yale had a shorty as well, agree, too many stupid penalties, but I think it is a product of bigger teams knowing that they can cycle against Yale.

They match up well. It was kind of sad to see O'Keefe play well at forward tonight, makes you wonder whether he could have made a difference earlier in the season at that position. No Spano for Senior night, but Allain makes the right call, Tucker played very well and was only out of position on a couple of DC rushes. If Yale gets 2 points on Friday against QU they will be guaranteed a 7 seed in the ECAC tourney, if they lose they can still finish anywhere between 7-10 seed. There is still an outside chance at a six seed if Clarkson loses two and Yale wins two
