Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Great game to watch tonight. Thanks, NESN. Hard to blame Spano for Harvard's goal. It went right by a Yale defenseman who seemed to have a chance to sweep it away.

I feel better about this 3 point weekend on the road, than I did last weeks at home.

Spano was outstanding tonight. He was the difference between a tie and Harvard winning the game. Kerfoot will have nightmares about that chance all alone in front in the second period. He also made a dandy in OT.

Spano is definitely coming into his own. Yale is getting to the point of being a scary team for the ECAC. Although young, most of Coach Allan's teams improve as the season progresses and this seems to be the case this year. Incredible pass on the tying goal.

College hockey teams can have so much turnover year to year, that a team is hardly recognizable. This can be good or bad, depending upon your perspective. For coaches, those kinds of years are the ultimate challenge.

After two years of defensive dominance, Yale knew those days were going end at some point. The graduation of its top three on the blue-line, Rob O'Gara, Mitch Witek and Ryan Obuchowski, left gaping holes to fill.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Saturday night at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center, Patrick Spano earned a share of the Tim Taylor Cup, annually awarded to the most valuable player of the Yale-Harvard game at Boston. The night before, a former Yale goalie, Keith Allain '80, earned his 200th career coaching victory on the Eli bench. The three-point weekend celebration for the Bulldogs was highlighted by those two milestones.

Spano, who helped Yale blank Dartmouth 7-0 last Friday and then earn a 1-1 overtime tie at No. 6 Harvard the next night, did one better than his mentor: He was named ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week today.

Kenny Agostino is leading the AHL in scoring and is headed to the AHL All Star Classic this weekend.

For children growing up in a hockey family or an area where hockey is very popular, being on skates at a young age is quite common. Henry Hart had both of those factors working for him growing up the son of a former Dartmouth women’s hockey player in Stillwater, Minn.

However, his hockey career did not get off to the greatest start. Hart initially did not want to take that first step onto the ice, but relented thanks to some persistence from his mother.

For those interested, the first game of Yale's home and home with Brown this weekend on Friday night in Providence is on ESPN 3

Re: Yale Men's Hockey 2016-2017. Who will step up?

Hoping you guys were right after last weekend's performance. But Spano & D have been ultra shaky tonight. Shorty not good. 3-3 after 2 here in RI.

BTW - Hayden definitely should get AA consideration. He's been just a beast. Snively's hands, sneaky fast moves around the goal a joy to behold. They've single handedly brought us back in this game.

Only caught the 3rd. Glad to get the win. Brown is always tough and the games are always close.

Not quite single handedly, those were pretty shaky refs tonight.

Yes - a good win. Team was determined. Agreed refs were a little whistle happy esp in 1st 2 periods. That said, Yale can score. Gave my tix to my Dad for rematch @ Ingalls. May be his last game for a while. Open heart surgery on tap.

Best wishes to your Dad and glad to see you posting here again, say hello at the top of Aisle Nine. I did not see tonights game so cannot comment. Although I did see Quinnipiac 1.2 beat Hartford in Bridgeport tonight. The ECAC was well represented with , Toews, St. Denis, the Jones twins for Bridgeport, and Matt Bodie and Gunnar Hughes for Hartford. Best name on a jersey contest was a tie between Ho-Sang and LaFranchise.
