Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

So we are down to this, Harvard or SLU, don't like either, but we do owe SLU a beating.

If Colgate and SLU win, SLU @ Yale.
If RPI and SLU win, Harvard @ Yale.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

So much for my faith in the Princeton Tigers. :( Bummer that the Q won't be at the Whale. Who would you rather play? The Saints or the Crimson?

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Apologies to all... I stand (vehemently) corrected. I thought SLU was the bottom seed for some reason: probably my abject fear of Colgate. Someone remind me next time to actually check the standings before posting. I still think we're getting QU, though.
Wrong again, Blue (about Q). But, NO WORRIES....... even Yalies make mistakes. IMHO, you CERTAINLY picked the right college!!!! ROTFLMAO.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Fair enough. If there's one thing my three Yale degrees should have taught me, it's that one should never be surprised by Princeton athletic incompetence -- except in basketball.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I will probably rue these words when we're in a game 3 grinder with SLU, and I say that only because this appears to be the playoff of the underdogs, but thank you Colgate. I wanted no part of Harvard and their red hot goalie Ryan Carroll

Instead, you get almost as red-hot goalie Matt Weninger, fresh off a 48 save performance.

Should be a fun series, hoping to be able to make it up to cheer on SLU. Always seems to be very entertaining and fast paced games with Yale, I'm sure this series will be the same.

To note: SLU has lost Jared Keller for the season due to an MCL injury, and has a couple other guys banged up after the Princeton series.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I couldn't be happier about this series. I like your team. I like the way they play. And I think that regardless of how good the two teams were overall this year, this is a great matchup for St. Lawrence. Our guys get up for these games, and Ylae will play just the kind of game SLU wants to play. If we get beat, it'll be because the other guys played to our strengths and were just better. I want SLU to win, but if I had to lose to anybody this year, I'd want it to be Ylae.

Let's go Saints!

It will be a pleasure to host LSU

I know. As I said, I might rue those words. But at least the series will be just hockey, and devoid of all that ultra-emotional rivalry stuff that always happens between Yale and Harvard.

And, the other thing I like about this series is that SLU wants to skate and play pure hockey, not goon it up like some of Yale's opponents this year who saw that as the only way to win.

Amen, man. A series with QU or Brown would've been nasty. Hopefully the SLU guys can keep it clean, I'll be keeping an eye on Flanagan. But, regardless of intent I expect a lot of emotion from both teams. Should be a great weekend and hopefully a short one.

Any interest in pregaming at Liffey's, Yale fans and out-of-towners? It's pretty close to Ingalls (walkable) and it's been a great supporter of the Bulldogs all season.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Wish I could, I am on a short leash, trying to save my cookie jar points for the Atlantic City sneak attack weekend. Anyone know if the games in AC are televised? Maybe Friday.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

All 3 ECAC semi/final games are live on CBS College Sports, which is a nice change from when the NHL Network was showing it. They showed the final on tape delay on Sunday.
