Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I couldn't believe (er, well yes I can) how snarky the QU fans were about everything from Adlon's voice to Max's knowledge of the game of hockey. Well, I have a feeling that if you took the College Board scores of the 3 most offensive Qpac critics, they would fall short of each of members of the Bulldog team.

At risk of revealing my identity, I don't take this stuff too seriously. Everyone is used to their guy (or girl) and for us students, broadcasting isn't our primary focus on a daily basis. Bill Schweizer (at QUN) is a talented and experienced pro, but I can assure you he's not finishing up a graduate degree in biochemistry on the side.

Well said, my friend........ and rest assured, I will take the secret of your identity to my grave.......hopefully in about 40 years, with many trips to the Whale in between !!!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

A heartfelt thank you from the "enemy" as well. There are more important things than hockey and I was touched by the Mandi Schwartz story. I think it's great that you've done this to honor her.

Thank you, Mark, for the kind words. I have been "underground" for a couple of years out of frustration at getting into #&*@ing contests with with folks on the Fan Forum, with NoDak, Minny, and BC serving as prime examples. The vast majority of Quinnipiac fans have always struck me as VERY well-informed and insightful. You are the prime example of the latter fan.....keep up the good work !!!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Great opportunity for Arcobello as he has been called up to Edmonton to fill in for the injury-plagued Oilers. Here's hoping he makes the most of his chance in the bigs!!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Did anybody get the Yale team photo on Friday night? Middle row # 23?? Can't figure it out. Did Carroccio change his number before he left school?

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I thought about that, he was gone long before school started. And it didnt look like him.
And if there was one person Keith would not want in that picture it would be Peltz!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

If you really want to make Allain and the AD mad, call the office and ask if it was Colin Sullivan.

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I agree entirely, Blue.......I am VERY pleased with Videocast quality. I suspect also that Addie, as a Blake (MN.) hockey alumna herself, could skate rings around those those idiots. IMHO, Addie and Max do a great job !!!

Not to mention, Addie's the ECAC broadcaster that is the most pleasing to the eye. ;) Sorry, jericho. :D Granted, we were a little disappointed with the pronunciation of a majority of the RPI names, but given how difficult it is to roll unfamiliar names off your tongue when you've just seen the guide an hour before the start of the game, I'll give some benefit there. The Q-Pac fans were even snarky at RPI's commentator regarding Langlois's name.

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Remember Arco playing his butt off against BC in the regional finals in Worcester when Yale appeared hopelessly out of the game? That kind of drive, tenacity, and, yes, talent, got him to this point. Good Luck tonight Mark!!! Hope you can continue to overcome the odds and stick in the NHL.

I haven't seen if mentioned but my source says that the Malcolm injury wasn't as bad as originally thought and he has a good chance to make it back. I think the storm came at a great time for the boys to relax, catch their breath and regroup. I still think this team can do some great things.

I hear that one of the goalies coming in next year is the best in the USHL. If Ago stays, they will be better next year.

Lots of business to take care of before then. I am going to Union on Friday I think.

Huge thanks to YaleDoc for the contributions to Yale All-Access. It has a long way to go though. I would gladly pay 8 bucks a game or 100 for the season if it meant that the game was on at 7:00 every night and didn't have such buffering issues. The road games don't look as good but they always seem to work. I think the announcers do a fine job and I like that its students. The play by play girl is getting better and better. She is nocking off some of the nerves with each game and just doing her thing.

Thanks for the kind words, Brain. I am very confident that the "wrinkles" will get worked out in short order. Adlon and Max continue to do a great job; while I'm handing out praise, BTW, having bought the St. Lawrence-Union videocast and not having Yale as the visitors, I must say the Saints announcers did a very nice job.....not quite as good as the Yale duo.....but close !!!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Some question about whether there is a Yale Brown internet broadcast. I just got the OK to head up to the game, hopefully we can escape from that house of horrors with two points. Brain, I hope you are right about Malcolm!

According to Steve Conn's latest column (and to the Brown Athletics Website itself), the game should be available for an $8.00 fee on the Brown site.....assuming, of course Nemo hasn't caused "issues". BTW, the feed from Harvard was just fine today.....and all the more enjoyable because it was FREE

I am pretty sure my information on Malcolm is correct.

I got the ok to go to Union on Friday. Any other Yale fans making the trip to the Capital District?

Anyone been to Union? Restaurant suggestions? Anything I can't miss?
