Just a reminder that the Yale QU game on Friday will air on the NBC sports network. Maybe the TV timeouts will lessen Yale's fatigue factor.

To our PWR/RPI stats expert on the thread: what would a Yale win over QPac do for our ranking?
And to our inside dope person: what is Malcolm's prognosis to play, if not Friday, then for the remainder of the season?

Yale is currently 14th in RPI. Best estimate, A win aganst QPac would bring them very close to Niagara in 10th. Of course, everyone else moves around as well, but a 3 or 4 place boost is my best guess. A loss could drop us behind Union to 15th if they win. PWR roughly follows.

And then Maricic comes in and plays well! Yet, if he had started, I have the feeling that he would have fared no better than Wilson. We have to find a way to beatPrinceton tomorrow night.

As semi predicted, our RPI dropped 1 ranking to 15th. Nicely, though, we are still 12th in the PWR. Kind of lucky, and not sustainable without some wins. The funny part is that our TUC record which looked poor up against the top 5 or 6 looks really good against the 10-15 and is holding us up (by a thread) for the moment. The wins against DU and CC and the tie with BC are really helping here, as did CC becoming a TUC and HC dropping out. This is all still meaningless though, if it isn't turned around pronto.

All three of QPac's goals last night looked like an avalanche rolling downhill against our team. Yale was a step slow throughout that sequence and that is a new phenomenon in the Allain era. They righted the ship somewhat after that, but QPac is just way too solid defensively to spot them a 1 goal lead, much less 3 goals. The teams remaining on our schedule are all inferior to Yale on paper, but the Bulldogs need to show up from the git go and get back to playing the aggressive forecheck that has been the hallmark of Yale Hockey in the Allain era.

Is it the worst losing streak since coach Allain has been at the reins?
Wilson goes down to fast on shots, teams will shoot high on him for easy pickings. Yale recruiting, get with it or it will be a rough couple of years.

Malcolm played and played well, gutsy win by the blue tonight with become key goals by some role players tonight. Ivy League Champions! Great to have JM back. He knocked off the rust midway through the first period and you could see the confidence of the team increase with each save he made. It has been a while since I have seen a breakaway as clean cut as the one that AD scored on.

Four would be great (for both ECAC and PWR), but I think they have a decent chance of getting the #4 seed with just two points. Playing fewer games en route to AC is certainly nice, but the understated value of the bye is that the team Yale would host in the second round would more likely be a "better" team than the team Yale would host in the first round (so wins help more and losses hurt less in the PWR).
