World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

Too bad Japan was missing their best player Kaoru Mitoma due to a hamstring injury back in early May while playing for Brighton. Don't know if he would have made a difference, but I sure do enjoy watching him play.
 
Referee for US-Bosnia Herzegovina is Raphael Claus of Brazil.

Not unexpected but again, a bit of a break for the USMNT as this could’ve easily been an Asian or African referee.

Claus refereed the Spain-Saudi Arabia match earlier in the tournament and was the referee in the 2024 Copa America Final as well. His name has come up as one of the candidates for the final in this tournament as well.

Crowd reaction to the goal from Asuncion was lovely.

It will be 3 minutes until I can't name one city in Paraguay again.
 
On that Keeper Interference call, I think it's legit. The player went right to the keeper when the ball was put in play and made contact as the ball sailed well over head.

Overall this is gonna be a Blue Dress, Black Dress situation though, lol.

IMHO, had he turned around to watch the ball, and still was in the way of the goalie, it would have been ok. But, as you say, he focused on the goalie and not the ball.

Pretty clear foul to me. Kinda understand why it wasn't called on the field though.
