World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

Colombia win the group, go to Kansas City to play Ghana.
Portugal finish second and will go to Toronto to play Croatia.
DR Congo finish third and will go to Atlanta to play England.
 
So it will come down to the last of the group games to decide who advances:
Austria: Win or draw
Algeria: Win, draw or lose by less than three (as long as they don't take a bunch of cards)
Iran: An Algeria win or an Austria win by more than three (or three and Austria play a Draw Four card on the Algerians)

If this result holds:
Austria go to LA to play Spain.
Iran would go to Vancouver to play Switzerland.
Algeria eliminated.
 
Hmmm…..that’s a little too much UEFA in our bracket to my liking….All those African teams and we have to go through Bosnia, Belgium, and Spain. Tough draw.
 
Today's Canada-South Africa match will be the first World Cup Knockout match to not feature a UEFA team, a CONMEBOL team, or the USMNT.

All previous non-UEFA, non-CONMEBOL knockout round matchups featured the US (US vs Mexico in 2002 and US vs Ghana in 2010).
 
I was just watching a video about who would make great hosts for future years and they mention that Europe, Africa and South America can't host again until 2042, Asia 2046...so...us again in 2038? Or is Infantino hoping Lil Hitler will have stadia on Mars by then that can host the new Universe Cup?

I'm going with Mars. If we have an extinction event on Earth any time soon it is the logical place.

And it's also the first time a host nation has played a road game.
