Fully expected us to concede.
Don't think there is any way we beat the Dutch.

Hoping pulisic gets a couple bags of frozen peas and that's all he needs. Less confident about Sargent. That looked fugly.

I guess we'll see what happens saturday.

Woof 8 am on saturday...

This came up during the first Qatar game, which was the same referee apparently, but what causes the referee on the field to go to the monitor? Is it solely the VAR that tells him to take another look
or do they both have to be in agreement?

No, it didn’t seem like enough to warrant a penalty, but it does seem weird that in that big of a moment you still don’t go take a peek for yourself. During the first Qatar game they mentioned something about chemistry being the two officials which made it sound like either the head referee can wave off a suggestion to look, or that the VAR should be in tune enough with a referee’s discretion to know what should be enough to bring him to the monitor.

Maybe it's a lack of service but Sargent has been invisible for me in the group stage. Outside maybe 1 or 2 runs.

The VAR recommends a review for one of the reasons (Goal/No Goal, Penalty kick, Red Card, Mistaken Identity), the referee then goes over to the monitor and makes a decision based on his view from the video.

They nearly 'Walesed' that one away. Whether or not they ever find themselves with a lead vs Netherlands remains to be seen, but if they should have one late I really hope they don't employ the same tactics.
