In the other quarterfinal last night Panama beat Costa Rica 3-1 at home to win 6-1 on aggregate.

Oh how far Costa Rica has fallen. In 2014 they were taking the Dutch to penalties in the quarterfinals of the World Cup and now they’re getting blown out in the quarterfinals of the Nations League.

Ok FTLT, I’ll extend an olive branch and I’ll discuss Berhalter’s tactics last night… under one condition: Prove you’re not just Jan only coming in to complain when something goes wrong.

I want to see a good analysis, both positive and negative, of every game previous to last night Berhalter has been in charge of since he was rehired.

Not able watch every game...so I can't...and sorry but I don't think you're being genuine anyway...I post an analysis tactic video I agree with... You come back with touch grass.

But...from what I recall...IMO... This team is at its best when they counter attack not when they try to break people down through the box... They're better with pace with athleticism, speed and not trying to control
the game through possession.
They can do that against Uzbekistan or Oman and have it work because we're just flat out better. But that type of game isn't going to work against the Germany's of the world and it showed in that game... A possession style is not going to get this team to be one of the best in the world and if that's the ultimate goal especially when hosting 2026 then the tactics used need to reflect what's going to get us there. The Ghana game...well that Ghana team right now is not good...clearly they just lost to Comoros.
Going forward I think this team needs to be a lot tighter defensively a lot better defensively and they need to use their midfielders especially their defensive midfielders better. Because this team can't play a heads up tactic game against some of the best teams in the world we're just not built to do it

But I will say that you know the proof so to speak that you found that people are ripping berhalter for the dest red card... Pretty much every comment under it or around it has ripped it... So these people that are making that argument are being criticized for doing so... Why do you care if people are criticizing him for it? The people that are can be dismissed out of hand because it's a ridiculous premise and anybody worth listening to knows that... But it's the first thing you decided to comment on with it.

After the win against Trinidad and Tobago the tactics can be criticized because we should have made changes at halftime... We knew that team wasn't attacking... And as the fox guys said... We could have counterattacked them to death and won and not had to press so hard so late to try and secure that 3-0 win.
Then we go down to T&T... Knowing that we have the three goal cushion in hand there's no need to play two strikers. And then once the red card happens there was absolutely no need to keep both of them there.
Do I think he's probably doing the best he can... Yeah he probably is... The problem is it's not good enough.
I think this team from a performance and from a tactical standpoint did a much better job before he came back under Callaghan than they have under Berhalter.
I think Callaghan had a better grasp of what this team is good at and what they're not good at and he's not trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

No...I said they are at their best when they counter attack. What Berhalter should be looking for is ANY tactic that can secure results...but he doesn't...he tries to force feed a possession style that with our Midfield and our Defense will get us killed against higher level teams. He should be able to realize that and figure out what he needs to do to set up the team to get a result...because at the end of the day that is what matters.

You also didn't trigger me...and if you think those are personal attacks or some sort of unhinged meltdown...then you as I said before...need to go delve into some political talks and see if that grows you some thicker skin. What I have yet to actually see from you is a contrarian point of view in terms of what Berhalter is doing that is correct. What to you says that berhalter shouldn't be criticized for what he does... Because after almost every game win or lose you come in here and wonder how the internet is going to criticize Berhalter... Why in hell do you care? If according to you most of the people that are criticizing him don't know what they're talking about... Then why do you care what they say? Why do you care about people that are going to blame Berhalter for Dest's red card as I said previously those people aren't worth listening to and they can be dismissed out of hand... Yet it's the first thing that you decided to focus on when the red card happened was how was it going to be blamed on Berhalter. It doesn't matter and those people are being dismissed as they should be. You can claim all you want that it's a snarky joke but it clearly affects you because you continue to do it. So again why is criticism of berhalter so offensive to you?

I'm going to post things that are likely to agree with my viewpoint...name me somebody who doesn't. It's what people do they seek out sources to validate what they say... Especially from people who may have the ability to articulate it a little better than they are. I watch everything I can on this team when I have the ability to... And so far I have yet to see anything that says his tactics for the last few games have been correct... Seen this from Fox and ESPN and what little I can find from Europe because to be honest they don't really give a crap about our national team nor should they...

So far all I've seen has said what I have that is tactics for the games against Trinidad and Tobago have been wrong and that these aren't friendlies anymore they're games that matter... And neither he nor the team has been good enough.
There are legit questions about whether or not he can deliver what the US federation wants to happen when we host world cup in 2 and 1/2 years... They want to be competitive and they want to be able to show that they're one of the better sides in the world and right now what the way he wants to play against those sides it's not going to happen.

CONCACAF gonna CONCACAF as Mexico gets 15 minutes of stoppage time to finally score their second goal to tie the aggregate and send the tie to OT.

Mexico beats Honduras on penalties but boy did Mexico need every bit of help including 11+ minutes of stoppage time, a red card to Honduras in OT, and one of the PK attempts by Mexico had to be retaken twice.
