Already insane, UAA making it worse
If you read the ESPN article they claim Claudio was sending messages to Earnie Stewart (US Soccer's Technical Director) and Brian McBride (the USMNT GM) about Gio's playing time during the World Cup.Holy shot. I just read the athletic article that spawned this mess. That makes the Reynas look absolute terrible. It's pretty clear that Berhalter was trying to protect Gio's reputation by saying it was an injury. Reynas and Wynalda for some reason were offended that he lied. Which is baffling. What should he have said? "Your son is a ****ing sourpuss and we almost flew him home because he has a **** attitude"
Like, obviously not. They're just ****ed that he didn't get to play. But he's an adult and it sounds like his teammates were upset with him as well.
The Reynas and Wynalda come out looking awful in this and now I'm even more upset at them than for just the blackmail alone.
I obviously want Gio to play, but not if he's an entitled doosh that's a cancer in the locker room. Go play somewhere else.
What amazes me is that people are using that to make the leap that Stewart and McBride should be fired.
