I have no problem keeping them where they are and giving them the ax.
In general I hate expansion and franchise relocation. With the exception of the Mets, Islanders, Seahawks, and Mariners (who all violate the anti-expansion rule), I'd like to see each league return to its roster of teams from its first season. NL 1876, AL 1901, NFL 1922, NHL 1923, NBA 1950.
Playoffs? In futbol? There's no playoffs in futbol!
Perhaps each team could also only be comprised of players who were on those original rosters?

I do not want MLS circa 1996
The Dutch also have Playoffs for Champions League and Europa League spots. Also, Mexico and Australia and others have playoffs as well. They actually have playoffs in England for teams to be promoted, with the finals at Wembley. There are also some countries where you can stave off relegation through playoffs.
I'm only counting professional leagues.
That loud groan you heard was from the MLS league office as Columbus beats Atlanta on Kicks.
The knockout round is a harsh mistress. One and done?
Harsh.
If I'm reading this right we get the winner of KC/Houston. Anything to choose from them? KC* is the team we crapped out against in the home leg a few years ago. It was... disappointing.
* I'm lying. It was RSL. For whatever reason I conflate the two.
They must be begging for Seattle-Portland and a NY derby for the conference finals.
The turf gods in Houston have given Portland a mighty “**** you!” with 3 injuries and subs in 60 minutes.Works for me.
We would need to have a wager. If Seattle wins I give you a rose. If Portland wins you give me an emerald.
They won U-20 as well...Attention Attention...England wins the World Cup!
(U-17...but still...)

r/MLS is a hoot to read right now. Between this video of a lovely chant to their owner Precourt (NSFW), the reported attendance number of 14000 versus the photos (seems the owner may be lowballing it), and of course the stories of closed entrance gates to bottleneck crowds and make the stadium appear empty at the beginning, it's fascinating.Columbus came to play tonight.
