The sound you hear is FOX execs jumping out of windows now that they can't market Messi for the final.
Go Ajax! The best league where there's an interesting race this year is probably Holland.
Not only did Bayern win by 4 goals but Barcelona had 0 away goals too.
One doesn't want to seem overconfident but that is a realy steep hole to dig out of for Barca.
So Bayern scores 1 then Barca needs 6... that'd be hilarious
I don't know, seems like a bit of a toothless response, if you ask me.
If you were so inclined, you could contradict this by pointing to the fact that a lot of their current success has been built around a core of home-grown players (Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Badstuber, Muller).I keep wanting to take more of an interest in Bayern, but if I hate the Yankees, Lakers, etc. in the US, why would I ever support a team that just outbuys its competition (you know, like almost every single club in Europe that has consistent domestic success?)

The Bundesliga has been one of the best run leagues in the world for some time, it's finally starting to pay off huge now.Did the German Football Federation put something in the drinking water?
4-1 Dortmund in the 68th minute.![]()
I'm in the same boat, I think. As much as I like Bayern (and I'm a big fan of Schweinsteiger, Mueller, Kroos, Badstuber, etc.) and it would suck for them to be runners up for the third time in four years, it's more interesting to see Borussia claim some hardware.Other than Ajax and, to a lesser extent, Malmo FF, I do generally root against those that dominate their domestics leagues. If the Germans hold, I'd rather see BvB win number 2 than Bayern win number 5. However, I've never been able to work up that much dislike for Bayern.
Dortmund did win the Bundesliga last year and the year before, including a league-cup double last year; it's not like they've been starved for recent success.Borussia? Really? That's pretty awesome.
