World Soccer XXIII - "Pay" Up Pompey?

Re: World Soccer XXIII - "Pay" Up Pompey?

The FA aren't competent enough to run a vast conspiracy. Though I wouldn't doubt they would if they were competent enough.

Or, or, maybe, they act incompetent so that people will be less likely to suspect the vast conspiracy that is their real intent...so it is an even more vast conspiracy that includes a sub-vast conspiracy to screw Liverpool, which is really the whole point behind the vastness of it. The best conspiracy would be the one nobody believes is happening, right?

Only way to stop it would be a vast-ectomy.

;)

I'd only believe in the possibility of a vast conspiracy if Arsenal were the target. :)

If the FA are just acting incompetent, but really aren't, the Oscars should just be retired and awarded permanently to the FA for best actor.

The best league where there's an interesting race this year is probably Holland.

This one is now just about over. Ajax is 4 points clear of both PSV and Feyenoord with 2 matches remaining and Ajax's next match is against last-place Willem II.

Sorry if playing spoiler, Villa up 4-1 at 62 minutes. HUGE at this point! Hopefully they are able to hold on to this lead...but any AVFC fan knows anything is possible.

Nice. If Wigan could win their match in hand too, there might even be a plausible chance that Newcastle could go down again, which would be hilarious.

Re: World Soccer XXIII - "Pay" Up Pompey?

God I hope Villa doesn't get sent down :(

6-1 today. They are showing signs of life, unlike a few others in the south half of the table. Villa is as inconsistent as Maine weather but I'll take it for now. Norwich (A), Chelsea (H), Wigan (A) remaining. They'll get somewhere between 0 and 9 points from those 3 fixtures!!

We're about 8 mins + from time and Dortmund is down 0-1 but still one goal to play with.

There goes the one goal. 0-2 & 4-3 on aggregate. Should be a lot of stoppage time.

Dortmund hold out. Good, better them than Madrid.

6-0 Bayern on aggregate with about 20 minutes left. unless Luongo goes in net for the Germans, I think they'll be playing Deutschland Uber Alles at Wembley.

The PAT is good. Muller.

If Don Meredith were still doing "football" color commentary, when would he have started to sing "Turn Out the Lights, the Pary's Over"? After Robben's goal?

egad, now 3 - 0 Bayern.

They could have played that game on a school field and it would have been a great story...doing at the stadium was a fantastic idea. So sad for the little guy but a great way for the team to honor his wish.
And to have so may fans in the stands for it, too!

WNY Flash finally won last night, much better job with controlling the game. Also, Carli Lloyd may be coming back on the 11th, depending on how next week's tests go.
