Shouldn't that have happened when he burned our bridges with Neven Subotic?

He gets a lot more flak for the Subotic thing than he deserves. Neven seems to have been more turned off by his experience with the U-17 team than anything Rongen said (most of which was justifiable at the time that it was said).

Rooney gets 2 games for his swearing. The ridiculousness of the FA continues.

Name another player who did what he did and escaped punishment.

I agree that there should've been a large fine or one game, but 2 is silly. It seems like they love handing out excessive punishments to United. Plus, don't you find it totally convenient that a City man made sure a United player was out for the FA Cup game against Al-Citeh? :D

7970 in New England tonight. All the weather's fault I presume.

In other news, Charlie Davies pretty much dived to win a penalty late, and DC drew with LA 1-1. Meanwhile, an uncharacteristic Tim Ream mistake gifted Philly a 1-0 win over New York.

It's dead in Foxboro. The team is terrible (record aside), there is no one to draw fans, its a pain in the *** to get there, Kraft has proven he couldn't care less. St. Louis and a few cities in the Southeast and Upper Midwest must be salivating over the Revs right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody bought the team and kept them in Boston/New England. Just too important of a market to leave out.

Makes up a little bit for all the years he's done it with impunity. No other player serially curses out the referees in the EPL like Rooney does. About time they take a little action toward him, though it's far too little far to late for all his years of excesses. Really, I wonder what changed that they for once decided to take action against him?

Yeah, with the Red Bulls, Toronto, Philly, and Montreal coming online soon, the owners of those clubs there would want a franchise in Boston just to keep up the local sports rivalries with. And it would be even more important if the NYC-Cosmos deal happens to where they're the 20th squad in the MLS. Thats a whole other market there that would in theory, be up to play Boston. And would likely help out travel in MLS by moving Houston to the West.

19,000 at the Union/Red Bull game. Pretty well behaved. Gifted is an understatement...not quite the stage of the Bill Buckner play but if you are losing the possession game 68/32% all you can hope for is a miracle...and that is what Union got.

Liverpool were really good today, well deserving of their win and all that, but seriously, f* Mancini. What the heck is he doing resting Silva and De Jong? You can't just waltz into Anfield and win, regardless of the kind of season Liverpool is having.

Is Shakhtar's goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, or does he just look like Jens Lehmann?

Outlaw United jettison Roman's Russian Mafia in leg 2 by a 2-1 score to win 3-1 on aggregate. WINNING!

How do you not start Didier Drogba?

Clearly, this man is not being treated well by his club. The man has helped Chelsea win the silverware it has won. I may dislike him, but I can't argue his skill. He's a great player and seems to score in big games. If I'm him, I'd be leaving because I'm sure that he could win more trophies and start somewhere else. Torres has been a massive failure.

I feel so sad for Harry Redknapp. So sad.

Wait. No I don't.
