Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Lacrosse also has plenty of Canadian origin as part of the Iroqouis Nation, whose lands straddled the border.

Lacrosse bar-bet-winning-famously was, and maybe still is, the official national sport of Canada.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but there's been some transfer news today:

Yossi Benayoun to Chelsea (rumored to be around 5 million pounds)

Yaya Toure to al-Citeh (30 million euros)

And they said during the game that Kevin-Prince Boateng and Nadir Belhadj are going to Lazio for a combined 8 million pounds.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Liverpool getting Fulham's coach has me leaning towards adopting Liverpool, which would be my even remotely contending EPL team. Would this be similar to taking on another Met-fandom-like burden?

They're the right color, anyway.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

That's fine, if you like watching a team of cheaters and actors, that's your prerogative.

Edit: Again, i've had this opinion since I started playing. Italy, ghana, most of the latin and south american teams. Whatever. if you dive, I don't like you.

Um, Uruguay is in Latin America. Moan about them.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Another example of the funny extra time time-keeping. I'd say there should have been at least 2 minutes added there.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

For all the hemming and hawing, wouldn't losing on penalties be a sufficiently excruciating way to be eliminated for Ghana?

(A lot of this arguing hasn't meant much to me because I had to work last Saturday, DVRed the match, saw extra time at work and felt little need to watch the 90 minutes beforehand).
