eh, i don't feel for them. if algeria played this keeper against them and the edu goal stood, slovenia would have been 0-2-1

That was fantastic. Also, I'm declaring a moratorium on Algerians whining about 1982. That was pathetically negative from them today.

So what are the scenarios for possible opponents? Can someone run them by? I have a job interview at 2 so I will miss at least the first half? Thanks.

I have to take by my negative comments. That play by Howard and the right side forward who chased it down and put it in the box were great.

Ghana, Germany, Serbia are really the only 3 possible teams.

But there is a ton of permutations for who finishes 2nd.

Currently the GF is at 4 for Germany, 2 for Ghana, and 1 for Serbia. So Serbia in a tie would need to score 2 more goals than Ghana does.

England are going to hate that they finished second in the group to the U.S.! :)

USA wins the Group, England advances.

USA will play runner up of the Ghana-Germany-Serbia-Australia mix.

Yes, it's as convoluted as our Group.

USA is rooting for Germany to beat Ghana to give them Ghana/Serbia/Australia.

England is rooting for Ghana to tie Germany, but for Serbia to win the game outright to make it England-Serbia, USA-Ghana

Germany, Ghana or Serbia. If Germany wins vs. Ghana they will likely win the group, if they tie or lose they are likely out.

Either way, I don't think we will play them.

England while happy for the advancement, will regret not scoring a second goal.
