WeGotMore said:As I understand it, you get 2 yellow cards in the groups, you miss the next match (either the 3rd group stage match or the Round of 16 one). After the groups, the cards are wiped clean. If you get get 2 yellows between the Round of 16 and the quarters, then you miss the semis. They've changed it this year so that yellows in the semis can't force you to miss the final.
This was how it used to be, but now they're wiping it after the quarters instead of the group stage this time to keep players from missing the finals unless they get a red in the semis.
Right, I thought it was a double wipe though so to speak. Once after the groups, then again after the quarters.
This should have been named "France Surrenders."
Crud... That is a good one...
Or "France Surrenders.... Again"
I can only imagine what Anelka said that got him booted from the team. I'm picturing it ending with him telling his coach to go away before he taunts him a second time.
He said to the coach, "F** k you, you son of a whore" from what I've heard.
But he said it in French, so it sounded romantic.
This should have been named "France Surrenders."
I'm going to admit to being a relative newb in soccer, but I do get into the World Cup more than anything.
What facinates me is that France, England, Germany, Spain, and Italy have struffled. South America is looking good with Uraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Chile so far looking like they could make it. What has happened to the European powers?
Also dissapointed that Africa might not get a team into the knockout round. Ghana REALLY needed that win over Austraila. Now they may need the Aussies to take down Serbia. Nigeria needs to win and hope Argentina beats Greece to have a shot.
