I haven't actually watched a lot of the matches so far, but it sounds like a pretty hum-drum first go through so far.

Didn't see all of it, but I didn't think it was that bad. Thought it was highly competitive, physical game. Some good chances. Overall, the games have certainly been lacking so far though...

Only watched from 35' to the half, but it was ghastly. Sounds like it did not improve in the second half.

Brazil - North Korea, I do not think will have the same problem. :p

I think it's more like we've always wanted to nuke North Korea.

I'm pretty impressed by the local level of interest in the WC for the soccer itself this time around, actually. Everywhere I go for lunch during the work week has a strong crowd following whatever game happens to be on.

For whatever reason (ball, altitude, something else), scoring is way down in this tournament and is on pace for a historic low:

"In the opening 16 games in 1998, 2002 and 2006. The results were 1998--2.31, 2002--2.87, 2006--2.43. Through the first 11 games, 2010 is averaging 1.46. It is down quite a bit. "

I think were now through 13 games and the average today has been 1, so that average dropped again.

As it stands right now for goal differential there's no excuse not to pour it on. While Brazil is probably one of the best in the world going home at 1-0-2 is not impossible.

I loved the sign "Kim Jong Il thinks I'm at work."

The Brazilian anthem sounds like a Puccini aria. Personally I think the French, German, Russian and Slovak anthems are the best.

If North Korea doesnt advance to the round of 16, Kim Jong Il will launch a nuke, thinking the world conspired against North Korea. :D

Considering Asia is 2-1 in this tourney, I'll go with 3-0. I don't think this will be Germany-Saudi Arabia 2002 (i.e. 8-0)
