Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

He clearly grabbed him and tried to pull him back. But the SA guy fell, and maybe too easily for the ref to think anything of it.

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

My pick: 1-1 draw. At least one player gets sent off.

Fair enough. Just didn't think it was worthy of a penalty.

Had that one pegged as a draw, but see France beating Uruguay...

"You no help me now, I say **** you, Govou, I do it myself."

What, wrong sport? :P

Another example of the ball taking a bigger bounce than expected...

France couldn't score because they Govou didn't use his hands. :D

Also, did you see France looking for a handball on that corner? Sorry Frenchie, but you ain't getting a handball call in this tournament! :D

The Japanese ref (Chairman Kaga?) books Ribery. Shirt-pulling is clearly verboten today.

Allez cuisine! You ever notice the original Iron Chef uses music from the movie "Backdraft"?

Anyways, Ian Darke says the longer it stays nil nil, the more desperate France will get. We ALL know what will come at that point. ;)

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

Uruguay looking better, in my opinion. The French seem to be relying too much on individual play, they aren't playing many combinations. Against Uruguay's solid defenders, that's not going to be effective.

Suarez and Forlan are getting some good runs, thus far, and Uruguay is linking up a lot better up top.

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

So is there a poster consensus of who'll be the other starting forward with Jozy tomorrow?

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

I think the like or dislike for the US has more to do with their success than how they act. There was a fair amount of dislike for them in 2002, even though I didn't really think there were too many jerks on that team.
