Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

3 shaky penalties against Spurs today?! 3?! They were admittedly garbage, but that was awful officiating.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

Nice of Burnley to show up. Burnley 0-Man City 4 20'.

The Champions League is slowly slipping out of Spurs' grasp.

Mason was crap today, but he also took a perfectly good Sunderland goal off the board.

Agreed. Spurs didn't deserve a win.

Man City up 0-5 at the half. Now lead for fourth by a point and look good to make up the current two goal gap in GD on top of it.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

I am absolutely in LOVE with today's results so far.

Don't worry. Chelsea will choke against the Pool and United will beat its blue-headed step-child, City.

If United doesn't win the league, I will wear a Chelsea shirt.

It was just wonderful to see United on the wrong side of some questionable officiating at Old Trafford. Then of course it's always great to see Harry Redknapp lose to a player he sold away. And on top of that, a hammering of Burnley by City.

Heres hoping Arsenal can pull their chestnuts out of the fire today.

On the undercard, I'm curious to see how Inter does in Moscow as well.

One last thing is Brian Ching may be announcing his retirement today, taking away yet another back up option at forward.

Like, retirement retirement? Or I'll still play in MLS, just not the national team retirement?

Whoa. Where did you hear that? I can't find it anywhere.

He has a press conference scheduled for today I think. The rumour mill seems to suggest it would only be international duty hes walking away from and if the injury is serious enough to keep him out of the WC squad, that makes sense.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

Looks like Arsenal is yet again having to play 12 vs 11. The reffing is shamefully one-sided in favor of Barca. Walcott scythed down, no booking. Nasri wins balls cleanly, booking.

Who has two thumbs and again forgot to DVR the Barcelona match?

This guy.

It just doesn't matter with Messi out there. Give Arsenal 20 guys and it still wouldn't matter.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

I keep on hearing great things about Charlie Davies' rehab and I'm getting more optimistic about his prospects for South Africa. That being said, what's the starting squad look like for the US now? The injuries and various friendlies have made me forget what the Confed lineup was.
