I can read into leading 1-0 at the half, even if against the run of play and not expecting a complete collapse by whatever defense we have.

It's not like Denmark has its top squad either, they are missing like their 4 best players as well.

Altidore/E. Johnson = invisible.

I agree it doesn't show what our A team is capable of, but you never want to go out and suck.

Yes, this.

Plus, Slovenia is now in the driver's seat with the Russians. They've scored, which makes for a 2-2 aggregate at present and they have the all important away goal.

All of this is dampered by the 1-0 lead Portugal has in Bosnia. Unless the Bosnians can come up with 3 goals they're done. Hate Portugal so smegging much.

I assume Craig is the guy to ask, but if Russia, France, and Portugal all get punted, do we have a shot at a seed?

Don't bother, Portugal isn't going anywhere.

The Russians, meanwhile, are now down to 10 AND down on away goals. Da svydanya, beotches.

Portugal now also officially through. DIAF, Carvalho.

Henry scores for France on a free kick where France was offsides and handballed twice on the same play.

And of course it's allowed.

Henry, between this and his shameful acting that he got kicked in the face in WC Germany, is an international embarrassment.
