Yeah...passed to an open wing right outside the blue line. Too many turnovers but that happens when you play slow and indecisive. I thought they would come out flying but they look intimidated.

Always tough to win two in a row against teams in this tournament. It was the longest time that the only times we'd beat Canada was on the 2nd game. Heck, we had some trouble against Russia the second time...

Canada played last night too. Look...I've said this continuously for years (to heavy criticism). The Canadians are the best in the world. You might steal one occasionally but just look at the record.

Yup, US looks slow, not as much effort as past games

Perfect example is Sweden. They look "great" every year until it matters. They were HORRENDOUS against Canada. If Ingram hadn't choked it would have been a shutout. And everyone said they were the "favorite."
 
Well the first couldn't have gone much worse. 2 goals on 3 shots. crappy d zone coverage, hand passes right to the high slot. Good crowd here. Still some empty seats up here in the bleus.

USA has got to get a puck past the Canada goalie quick and shake his confidence. He's seeing everything and on a huge high right now from the semifinal.

Can't get into a run and gun with this team. Too good. Chabot is the best player in the tournament by far. He would start for Philly tomorrow.

I don't think it's lack of effort. It's indecisiveness, which comes with lack of confidence. You can take almost anything in life...the more you "practice" the more natural it comes. You can't duplicate (regardless of what these people who come on here and call me "uneducated" because "don't you know they play hockey in Indonesia?" - yeah, OK) TIME and instincts. When you are on skates at three years old on a frozen pond for ten hours a day, it comes automatically. You can't duplicate that, no matter how many times your parents take you to the local skating rink for a two-hour skate around. It's just not the same. A star musician didn't get that way being well rounded. They spend 12 hours a day doing NOTHING but playing their instrument. They gave up everything else. It's not about "exposing" better athletes to the game. All these people who talk about how the game has "grown" in the US miss the point. I don't care how many practices you go to in Arizona. You can't duplicate the EXPERIENCE of playing on a pond as a little kid in Canada. You can't do that in Arizona - the ponds don't freeze. I'm going to stop now because this little rant is upsetting me. But I just get tired of everyone saying "We're as good as they are." We're not. Period. I hope they come back and win. It would be great. But that doesn't mean we're as good. The Canadians have more speed and skill and play at a much faster pace with more confidence. That's the way it is. We upset them occasionally. It doesn't look like tonight is going to be one of those nights. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't really see an uneven game so far - Canada getting pucks to the net and capitalizing on US defensive breakdowns is the difference. Meanwhile, US creating chances but doing a horrible job of getting shots on net and testing Hart. He was shaky even last night - despite not allowing a goal and they really let him off the hook trying to get too cute...

Pretty even game from my view. USA coming out like they want it this period.
