World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

I thought the Slovakia kid in net was the only thing kept the US from hitting at least a snowman.

My pleasure. I unfortunately trailed off a bit in the 3rd. 5MB here in the Philippines isn't always what it's cracked up to be. :D :(

Hey - you live at Clark? I lived in Makati (Manila) for 5 years in the 80's, back when the bases were at Clark and Subic Bay. Used to head to Clark to take on the Wagner High School basketball team. Graduated HS in '86 (was there for the revolution), went back the following X-mas, but haven't been back since. Fun times...

Bad enough we can never beat russia in this thing but we are playing afternoon after a night game and russia didn't play yesterday.

I might be imagining this, but doesn't the host country get a lot of say in setting the schedules? I seem to recall this as an issue before, especially between Canada and the U.S., where if one of them is hosting, they set up the schedule so the other has to play Russia or Sweden or someone in the second game of back to back games, and then the host country gets them right after that.

Technically I'm in Angeles City but Clark is stone's throw. If you're familiar with Korea Town I'm just south of that. Previously I lived in Dasmarinas (Cavite) and the Fort. Good chance I'll be relocating to Iloilo in a few months.

Hah! I lived in Dasmarinas for all 5 years I was there (81 to 86). Also spent a lot of time at Forbes Park, Urdaneta, and Magallanes villages. Went to ISM for school, before it moved to Fort Bonifacio. What is Cavite - your street?

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

I found a YT stream that seems to be fairly stable if anyone is stuck with lots of adblock sketchier streams. Can rep to whoever needs it

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

Wait Greenway gave a big hit, then lost his man and gave up a shorty? shocking

So he is due for a dumb penalty sometime in the second right?

Cavite is the province - there's another Dasmarinas I believe.

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

US looks pretty good so far 3-1, 5 left in 2nd

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

3-2 now. A lot of Russians in attendance. Canadians seem mostly indifferent.

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

The U.S. had numerous great chances in the 1st period but couldn't capitalize. In the last half of the 2nd they appeared to tire, not nearly as quick to the puck as in the first (not surprising given their game last night vs. the Russians who had the day off). To win the U.S. will somehow need to regain the energy level they had in the 1st. Sitting back and playing defense will probably not be enough to get the job done.

Re: World Juniors -- Anybody? Bueller?

Lol, US gets a penalty shot because the Russians knock the net off!
