World Juniors 2020

Welp, not the start the US was looking for.

Wahlstrom penalty and Germany converts on the PP.

No gimmes in this group. Going to have to compete every shift.

Now that was a nice play. Hard fore check to steal the puck... Unselfish...four nice passes in the zone and then a great finish.

Great stuff to go up 2-1 late.

Gotta stay out of the box. Germany 2 for 2 on PP’s now.

US failed to score on its own PP that was bookend with the end of the first and start of 2nd.

pinto’s nice tournament continues tying things up for USA late in the 2nd period.

3-3 w/ 5 to go in 2nd period.

Pool B is STACKED this year. Going to be a good hockey team that doesn’t even make the quarterfinals. From what I’ve watched so far, Pool B has five of the best seven teams in this tournament.

What a feed by Zegras to setup Hall for the go ahead goal.

Another entertaining game. US with a 4-3 lead after two periods.

Re: World Juniors 2020

PP goal by Bobby Brink 5-3
Wahlstrom makes it 6-3

USA NOW FACING 3X5 PENALTY KILL

Both penalties killed

As a BU fan, I was disappointed with Zegras' lack of ice time through the first two periods. My guess is that the coaches like him out there when we are trailing, but maybe not so much when we are leading.

I thought Beecher looked very good. Pinto as well, other than the penalty.

Four assists today. Did he get more ice time? (Serious question. I didn’t watch.)

Re: World Juniors 2020

Miller is such a defensive liability. last night, he was always trying to pinch and got burned for odd man rushes over and over.

He's going to be really good but he's definitely not there yet. Needs bailing out too often.

For now coaches and scouts don't care because all they focus on is play like Miller's one zone entry and drop pass for an assist, which admittedly was impressive. As long as his play with the puck on his stick equals his defensive lapses, then he's good to go.

Germany beats the Czech Republic in an “upset” but I think anybody that was watching Germany vs. the US quickly realized they had a very solid club.

Group B is an absolute slobber knocker.

Russia beating Canada 2-0 right now in the first...

Russia fan, after that disaster against the Czechs I am enjoying this. Though I do hope Lafreniere is okay

5-0 Russia...Lafreniere hopefully is okay but definitely solemn mood hanging over the arena right now.

I’m pretty sure if the results hold exactly as they are right now, Canada is in last place in the group with the goal differential.

6-0 Russia.

wow, complete domination by RUS. and it started from puck drop.
not often do you see CAN get owned in hockey but it does happen time to time.

Canada got punched in the mouth in the first period and then the opening 3 minutes of the 2nd period were back to back knockout punches by not scoring on the PP, losing Lafreniere and then Russia makes it 4-0.

Re: World Juniors 2020

! The Russians dropped half a dozen eggs on the Canadians. I didn't see that one coming.
