Great play by J. Hughes to force the turnover and created space with his creativity coming into the zone. Surprised Cates was able to bring that all the way back across and beat the goalie. He just missed the pole check.

Superb effort so far in the 1st. Hughes almost scored five minutes in too with a pretty give and go that Czech goalie did a nice job coming across to get with the pad.

Good first period, I wish they had more to show on the score sheet. Need to take advantage of those power play chances.

Canada with a PS in OT, but a good save in front keeps this going.

Kind of sad, as an American, I'd rather watch Canada/Suomi.

The only thing I didn't like about the coverage and replays of the Canada loss is not enough views of the crowd in stunned disbelief!

One thing I’ll give a lot of credit to the Canadian fans though is the fact nearly all of them stayed for the Finland anthem. If that happens in then States, maybe a 1/4th of the crowd would have stayed if that?
