As a (Steinbrenners pending) Spurs fan
If this is really your stance, you should do yourself a favor and just stop rooting for them now - because if your support is predicated on a certain person or persons not owning the team, you're a pretty fairweather fan.
MLS All Star reserves announced today. Notable are the two Commissioner's picks, the ancient Jaime Moreno, and Brian Ching - with his robust strike rate of 3 goals in 9 games.
What a joke.
What's the problem? They're guys #23 and #24 on the roster.
They're still 2 silly choices, while 2 much more deserving players are left at home.
Or, if you take the position that commissioner's picks don't have to be deserving, and should instead drive hype and take other factors into account, why not go for it and pick Henry?

Or that the commissioner is taking the long view and wants to honor two veterans with long service to their teams and the league. I don't know about Ching, but this is likely Jaime's last season.
Whether they 'deserve' it or not would depend on the criteria, no?
I mean, the team can do a complete change of personnel on the field at half time and still leave these two on the bench.

I just picked them to follow last year, I had always followed Serie A and Roma, but it is a lot easier to follow the EPL. So, I started watching, and liked what Spurs had going on.
That's interesting. What makes Serie A easier to follow for you? I would think it would be tougher, with the language barrier and all.
He said that the EPL was easier to follow.
It's cool, you were just proving your point that there's a language barrier among English speakers too.Wow. Yes he did. I read that twice to make sure I was getting it right, and still managed to misread it.
