I don't know that Barcelona generally have that kind of problem (I think they save money on wages by actually developing their own players), and it seems like in part these issues might be due to the fact that they're potentially losing out on a large amount of money due to the bankruptcy of the company to which they sold broadcast rights. (Not getting 150 million euros that you should be receiving would have a pretty serious effect on a lot of teams.) This is also exacerbated by the fact that they're in the process of spending 250 million euros to renovate the Camp Nou. I wonder whether this played a role in their selling Toure to al-Citeh or Chygrynskiy back to Shakhtar, and whether we'll see Hleb (maybe back to Stuttgart or Arsenal) and one of Marquez/Milito/Caceres on their way out as well. (And also Henry believed to be coming off the books and headed to Red Bull NY.) Still, Pedro and Sergio Busquets and maybe also Bojan are due raises, and Fabregas won't come cheap if he is coming. I'd certainly love to see a summary of their revenues and expenses.

Heck, I'd happily just take $150 to pay the electric bill that will surely be ludicrous after running my A/C full blast so much lately.

I'm not surprised that no one in NI was rooting for England. No one is Scotland was rooting for them either. Not even the Rangers supporters.

They must know TBA.

The Afrikaners, who created apartheid, were neo-fascist religious conservatives who hated tolerant Dutch South Africans almost as much as blacks. It wasn't an All White vs All Black thing, it was a White Wingnuts vs Sane Whites and Blacks thing.

As much as I love Torres he hasn't looked anything remotely close to 100%

Surprised they didn't put Fabregas on and play Villa as the sole striker as they used to perfection several times in the tourney.

Zonal Marking seemed to think that Fabregas didn't add a whole lot when he came on. I'm not sure how much stock to put in that, but for what it's worth I guess.
