How Mitrovic was called for a foul when it was 1-1 and not given the penalty I can't understand.
Then again, it is games like these that make me question why anyone would ever want to be an official at this level and at this type of competition. Such a physical and scrappy game, makes it so hard on the ref.

Bleh. I guess Serbia will just have to go out and beat Brasil. If they are able to send the Brasilians home it will be doubly sweet.

We've reached the point in the tournament where it's only going to get worse across all teams. The importance of every single point becomes so much more tangible, and things become even more acute when we move into the knockout rounds.

I absolutely love international soccer, and especially this tournament. So much pride....the million Euro salaries take a back seat to devotion to country and desire to bring elation to your entire nation. It brings out the greatest parts of the game, but it also brings out the bad as well. There is just so much on the line for all of these guys.

It's funny, I'm having exactly the opposite reaction. I wish the WC would ban every country with > 10M people.

But without the big fish, they wouldn't be small fry.

No one cares who wins in a battle between the ivy league and the Patriot league. It's when one of those knocks off a Big Ten or SEC school that we care.

No problem with a defensive style. It's the flopping and faking injuries at every turn in order to waste time that's infuriating. Brazil was getting frustrated by it and I can't blame them.

Irritates me when Neymar does it too...i was actually glad the penalty was called back.

Germany really up against it now. Mexico with 6 and Sweden sitting on 3.

That blue shirt on yellow shorts is a weird look for me. Not used to that from Sweden.

Disagree with Holden there. Not enough contact for me. I am fine with that not being a penalty.

I don’t know what Dr. Joe and Holden are seeing that I am not but I just don't see enough definitive contact for that to be a penalty. But most the soccer community wants penalties for everything so I am sure I am in the minority.
