Wonder why hockey east attendance is down at 15$ a whack ?????

Re: Wonder why hockey east attendance is down at 15$ a whack ?????

I was just pointing out something that could have an impact on attendance; there really IS no rationale in this entire argument.
Not even clear to me what the argument IS. Without going back and reading the whole string, it appears to me that it started out as a complaint about ticket prices for the Hockey East tournament, morphed to surprise over how low the ticket prices seemed to be to folks in Minnesota, then devolved into a pizzing contest over who has better hockey fans and the rationales that are being offered for attendance figures are being taken as excuses. As a New Englander, I'm happy to concede that college sports generally, and college hockey specifically is a bigger deal in the midwest.

MN pays more than NE
NE is more sophisticated than MN
MN loves hockey more than NE
NE is cheap
MN closes the top level to create demand
NE is on spring break
MN watched high school hockey
NE did have a student bus

Yup. I think my post with the attendance statistics was misconstrued as an attack on midwestern fans. It wasn't. My whole point was that NE schools have competition, which is why attendance numbers per school are perhaps not as high as schools like Wisconsin, Minnesota, UND, etc. I think we can all agree that college hockey is bigger in the midwest. That's not even contestable. And now apparently Agganis has beef with me, because I tried to stick up for his team, and has decided to try to make me look like a fool.

With that said, I'm dipping out of this particular conversation, as my team isn't even in the Hockey East.

If you are coming to the Garden Friday I would love to have beef or any other entree with you before heading into the game.

I'll be in Atlantic City. Perhaps some other time.

Not Boston but within 50 miles which fits withing the arbitrary 70 mile range previously used. Just under 9k for this BU vs BC regional final.

Reminders of that game are unnecessary. That said, I would guess the number of fans of BU and BC without access to a car, and thus couldn't make it to the game is significantly higher than that of Minnesota or UND. I remember that after the two BU student buses filled, there were lots more who wanted to go but couldn't due to lack of transportation. Would it sell out at TD, I don't know, the point made about the lack of time is a fair one, and of course NCAA pricing doesn't help things for anyone. But I have a lot of trouble seeing such a scenario drawing under 10K.
