Scoping out the schedule for our opps to follow the team around MN.

Only hiccup looks like not being able to do our traditional Saturday game at St. Cloud (will be in WI for a wedding). Bummer as it's also Halloween.

Should be on for both at Ridder, both at St. Thomas, and Saturday at Mankato. Definitely planning the Duluth weekend again. Bemidji we'll play by ear based on the weather.

And of course the Final Faceoff and Frozen Four will be in the agenda.

I know I say it every year, but I never do it, but I need to go to an away series. I think the January 8-9 at St. Thomas, January 15-16 at Mankato or the Feb 12-13 series at Duluth would be good as long as they are Friday/Sat/Sun. How cold as these rinks?

The new St. Thomas arena is very nice and very comfortable. The old prep academy one they played at before was not - basically dressed like you were still outside . I think I heard PB refer to it once as "the world's coldest ice rink."

Duluth is awesome - both a great arena and located a short walk from Canal Park and the heart of the city. Note that for women's games they do sell assigned seats along the sides (we've grabbed them next to the penalty box and behind the Badger bench), but the one end behind the goal line is general admin.

Mankato is fun and cheap - entirely general admin/sit wherever you want. Nice facility that is starting to show its age a bit. Very easy in and out with a free (at least on Saturdays?) parking ramp next door. Probably the coldest arena now that St. Thomas has moved into new digs...blanket recommended especially if sitting near the glass.

I agree about the arena at St. Thomas. We went to the Championship game of the WCHA Tournament. Sat right on the glass behind the Badger bench. It's also very easy to get to.

It's kind of shocking that Duluth has reserved seating when that place is huge and always looks rather empty. I appreciate all the feedback. I think I'm just going to have to book a trip and not tell my wife, she'll just try to talk me out of it. In actuality in that time frame that I want to go, she gets a little stir crazy so a weekend away would be a good thing for her.

I think you should go to Duluth. It will be the best opponent of your choices. It's a nice arena. Duluth is a nice town in my opinion. Go to Fitger's if you end up going. Plus you can make a detour on your travels to Hayward to take a selfie in your Wisco jersey in front of the giant musky.
