Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

What options do we have to show our disapproval without having the action reflect badly on the players, their families, the coaches, etc.?

Chatting about things in social media makes us feel better but doesn't directly affect things IRL - unless you're a privileged member who's plugged into all the powers that be, of course.
The Athletic Department operates under a "what the market will bear" mentality. Arguing against ticket price increases is futile so long as someone--anyone--is willing to purchase the ticket, whether that person attends the games or not. With a national champion in the building, the AD has apparently decided to jack up the prices while the jacking is good. And, of course, the Athletic Board would have had to approve the price increase but unless there's a rogue member, the AB does little more than rubber-stamp whatever the AD presents because the AD has all the facts and figures to support "what the market will bear." Of course, ticket prices for women's hockey make very little impact on the overall budget but the prices are increased anyway. If we could get a decent scoreboard out of the deal, the fans might be more amenable to the increase. Wishful thinking.

Looking for that "rogue member."

Suggestions?

Minnetonka F Claire Sommerfeld has committed for 2028 class, the first one for that class. 20g 15a as a Fr and 22g 20a as a So. Usually UW's superstar F's don't come from Rodentsota, maybe she will be different. Rodentsota based D on the other hand are usually plug and play as Fr, love those.

Interesting that Bella Vasseur is listed on the Board. They may not have been updated for this year.
Is that a suggestion or an observation?

I have an email address for one of the corporate sponsors. If you want to contact them, DM me.

BU has their 2026-27 schedule posted, and it shows the series in Madison as being Thursday Oct 1, and Friday Oct 2.

Because that is homecoming weekend, with football vs Michigan State Saturday (and possibly Sat night?)

(UW Volleyball also at home on Thursday Oct 1. Dammit!)

I just saw on FB

i watched this and then saw it was Nicole G birthday the other day but not Rachel… so I looked and saw they are born 5 months apart! This entire time I thought they were twins 🤣
I noticed this when they were first recruited. No one has ever mentioned the situation publicly so I've never tried to follow-up even though I'm curious about it.
