Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

Interesting goal review on the Hall goal. Many questions. If the puck goes in deflection off the scorer's hand while the hand is on the stick, is that 'no goal' because of the hand, or 'goal" because it was on the stick. I'm not sure the puck didn't deflect off the stick directly, but it might have been off hand, then stick, the other hand.

If she was standing up, and the puck went off her hand, and she was moving forward with that hand like she was shooting, would that be a goal? Seems like a very feasible play that I don't think I would question as a goal, but since she was on the ice and pushed instead of swinging, it's called into question. To me the, an uninformed fan. I would think the most important thing is she kept both hands on the stick. She didn't open hand grab or throw the puck. That would take if it hit her glove or the stick out of the equation.

Dumb and dumber determined the puck went directly off the stick… had it been DIRECTED in by the glove, even while holding the stick it would be no goal.
Picard injury appears season and career ending. 3rd time on same knee. Such a shame for such a great person.

D & D got the call right, shockingly. Of course they also reviewed the most obvious goal of all time. They need to make the net looser and pad the inside more to make it easier to see it was a goal.

Hopefully, somehow, you are wrong on Picard.

Some future BADgers picked up some gold hunks yesterday. The US & Canada are so out of the world better than the other teams that to me the best telling info is how they played overall is to look how they did against Canada in the gold medal game. 26-27 recruit Kimbrel played 18:31 minutes, no points, even, was an AC; 26-27 Box played 3:58, extra F, no points, even.

27-28 recruit Pohl played 14:48, scored a goal, +2. 27-28 Taylor played 22:18 (lead the team in minutes played), no points, +2.

26-27 recruit Canadian Tremblay got a silver hunk. Played 16:23, was 16-5 on faceoffs, even, was an AC.

Overall scoring in top 30
3# - Pohl 6g 9a
10# - Taylor 0g 11a
15# - Lopusanova 6g 1a
19# - Tremblay 3g 4a

Looks like the 27-28 class may better than the 26-27 class though the lense of this tournament, though Lopusanova may be the national ROTY next season and has little support from her national team to rack up points and only played in 4 games. I am very excited about Tremblay destroying those rotten Americans in the faceoff circle. UW is losing Picard, a very reliable C. UW will be stacked at C next season.

Pohl and Taylor playing prominent roles as younger players really has me drooling.
