Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXVI: Make him an offer he can't refuse

There must be some more good news on the horizon, Chuck said thus could be the biggest week of the summer 2 pages back. Boeser has to be the start to a great recruiting week.

Thought there may be a second one coming as well, but it sounds as if that's not imminent.

It was always going to come down to Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Makes the recruiting win even that much better for Wisconsin. Had he chose Minnesota, the Gophers would have gotten the #1 (Novak) and #2 (Boeser) overall selections in the USHL Futures Draft.

Boeser is a kid that can skate and handle the puck very well for a kid his size. Should be an impact player with the Badgers.

Tough to win that battle with the family ties. We had #1 and #2 in 2011. Just got old. Gropp will probably be a cross conference and cross country recruiting battle. That'll be the fun one.

Parise it must hurt to have to resort to that.

Must have to resort to comparing championships (and then ignoring parts of history) to legitimize one's favorite program in the first place ;)

FYI - I will be placing all of my comments to remarks here in the new thread I recently created as not to clog this thread up any more.

It's an intriguing situation, for sure. The way the staff is slow playing the forwards for 2014 leads me to believe they are waiting for a few chips to fall before they make any more offers. Ryan Gropp? Ryan MacInnis? Both kids have major junior options they are considering on top of being big-time college hockey recruits.

Avery Peterson from Grand Rapids and Spencer Naas from Benilde are two other kids that they've shown interest in.

MacInnis has numerous interesting connections to Wisconsin through his dad. Coached by Bob Johnson, played 3 years in Calgary with Eaves, played many years with Suter/Ranheim, played a couple with Ramage, and crossed paths with Gino Cavallini, Engblom, & Osiecki for a season.

As long as Al MacInnis was in the league...I'm sure there are many interesting connections everywhere in hockey.

MacInnis has CHL written all over him. Gropp, on the other hand, looks like he's probably going the CHL route and would be a big get for any program.

Ah, I'll let Chuckie break it to everybody. He usually finds out somehow.
