Heard they wanted to watch him more in the USHL to see how he'd adjust to that level but that was a little while ago. Given he continues rack up points and UW's need at the position, it would appear to be a fit. But, that's just my opinion. Also, from what I've heard before, it wouldn't take much steering from Oz or anyone to get him to Madison should they want him.

Saw Sheehy a couple weeks ago vs Cedar Rapids. His skill is undeniable and has a very good motor. Was playing both special teams as well as 2nd line from what I could tell.

He made a great steal on the PK went forehand/backhand and roofed it. Great individual effort. He is ready for College hockey IMO.

Good to know on both counts.

Clearly we're making some good efforts toward a version of the much longed for "Canadian Club" returning to Badger ice. Even with as much as it was initially maligned by many folks, I really think B1G Hockey is going to help us considerably vs. major juniors given time. Btw- Does anybody know if BTN is available in Canada? I'd like to think kids up north can watch a little B1G hockey from time to time.

Especially in the 70's and 80's Wisconsin often carried a number of Canadians on the roster. These players were often referred to as the "Canadian Club". (Also referencing a brand of whiskey I have been known to partake of on occasion.) Banners like this were commonplace back in the day. Some folks might equate less Canadian Clubbers in red with less success in the program over all.

they should, but then they'd obscure the brand new football-like ring of accomplishment for the hockey team (insert roll eyes)

...I wish Cerniglia would straighten this whole mess out with the WCHA/NCAA banners and the ones the kids brought in (and I'm fairly certain he played at the Great Dane and obviously then saw all of the banners), or get Andringa up there w/Shuchuk to tell Barry what's what

Think coaching college is a glamorous life? I saw assistant coach Matty Walsh recruiting at Shattuck at 8 am this morning. It's about a four hour drive from Madison to Faribault.

Can anyone offer insight on the 2013 recruits that have not seen the ice yet? Do they impact Badger recruiting? Eaves doghouse?

Not in the dog house at all, coaching staff is going to play the guys they thing give them the best chance to win every night. Not sure how familiar you are with Wisconsin's roster this season, but they returned a boat load of veteran talent. It's not easy breaking into a lineup with so many upperclassmen already locking down spots.

Cavallini is a recruited walk on that was never expected to play much (if at all) this season. If he's in the lineup things have gone horribly wrong in the injury department. By everything I've heard the kid works his butt off and that's a good start, but if we're being honest with ourselves he lags behind in the talent category compared to the players at this level. Could be a fourth line pk type guy in a few years.

Davison is a bit surprising, but the biggest thing holding him back right now is size/strength. I think he's got the best chance at seeing some games this season but that's going to be decided by his play in practice. The six defensemen Wisconsin has played every night so far have been fairly steady outside of the Boston weekend.

Corbin McGuire is in that situation with Cavallini where it's just hard to break into a lineup with so many spots already sewn up. Heck, junior Matt Paape is struggling to crack the lineup this season (only a couple games played) after playing over 70 games his first two seasons on campus. If Paape can't get in, McGuire isn't likely to see much (if any) action either. McGuire's best shot will come over the holidays when Kerdiles is gone. If someone is playing poorly, he might get his shot vs. either Huntsville or Anchorage.

The 2 blue chippah Fr, Besse and Soleway, have seen a lot of playing time. Next year I think the 2 F on your list will all get on the ice since UW is graduation 6 F plus there are a couple early departure prospects in Kerdiles and LaBate. On the D side, they are losing 3 Sr and possibly McCabe leaves early. Next year sounds depressing if all 3 leave early.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Davison or McGuire play vs Huntsville or Anchorage.

You really like the term "blue chippah", I would say that is a great stretch to call Soleway a blue chip recruit.
