US was down to Russia 1 - 0 going into the 3rd period this morning.

Who just scored 2 goals in 3:00? Some guy named Cole Caufield. He is tied with Alex Ovechkin's 14 goals in the tourney.

Crank up the red Kool-Aid!

The shootout effort sucked for team USA. Every guy went for the deek. After the 3rd fail someone should have tried something different. I think UW needs to recruit that commie goalie.

Team USA gets the bronze. Hughes probably gets the tourney MVP, but Caufield was nuts.

Team Canada looked VERY uninterested to be there. 4 years without a medal; they better look into their program or those fans might burn it down.

deek vs deke?? Spellcheck doesn't like either of those spellings LOL. I didn't get a chance to watch the game, how did Holloway look?

Boy was Saturday fun, eh? Watched the U18 semi's and curling mixed doubles practically all day. It's hard to beat that for TV viewing. I love that I bumped up the cable package to get the NHL and Olympic channels.

I think its 50/50 this Quebec kid ever reaches UW.

1. High rated Quebec kids especially ones that a sure fire first round picks rarely go the college route.
2. This could be a play by the kid to get drafted by a specific QMJHL team.

Or it could be a play by the kid to follow in the skate paths of Chelios, Driver, Rafalski, Hill, McDonagh, Suter, Suter, Suter, Tanabe, Gardiner etc al

I can't remember the last time we had a commit from Québec, but after reading Todd's article it was "Gilles Hudon in 1978-79 and Jacques Auger in 1990-91". I remember Auger but not Hudon.

Interesting. Maybe the pipeline will start with the addition of a French-Canadian goalie. Vive le Québec!
