Added to the spreadsheet. UW really adding as many young ones as they can before that new rule kicks in.

Wisconsin hockey will roster almost as many players as the football team does at this point.

I have a feeling that a good deal of those names will be cleaned up off the list in the next few months.

I have looked at my previous revisions of the spreadsheet and it is pretty crazy to see how often the roster changes from verbals.

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. IV - It's all coming together

So now with the change in recruiting it's crickets until June 1 for guys who are Jr's or older, correct?

As of yesterday:
Kids who will be Sophomores (now Freshman) in '19-'20 can have no more contact with coaches until Jan. 1, 2020. They cannot verbally commit until Aug. 1 2020.
Kids who will be Juniors in '19-'20 (now Sophomores) can continue contact, but cannot verbally commit until August 1, 2019.

Juniors and older? Is there a dead period or something that I'm not seeing? I was under the impression that the only dead periods were the first week of the season and the week of the FF.

I don't think there is a Jr deal, that's why I was asking.

See, it was the specificity of the question that threw me off.
For example if I were to ask, "Is there Free Beer at Tim's house at 4pm on June 1st?" The specific nature of the question sort of suggests that I must know something about the beer being free at your house on June 1, because otherwise why would I ask such a question? If you see what I mean there.

btw- Is there free beer at your house on June 1? Will there be more than 50 people there? Is there room to park?:)

I think you gave me too much credit on the my thought process/understanding there, which was lacking more than normal.

How did you know my daughter's HS graduation party was June 1? I guess I'm going to have to smoke more pork butts now. And buy more beer. I'm a Miller guy, well, kind of. I don't drink beer, but Miller has sponsored Team Penske going back to the days of Danny Sullivan in Indy Cars, and it is a WI product, and I'm German and Germans believe rice should not be in beer.

There were a lot of words in that reply but I didn't see the answer that we really cared about... Is there free beer at your house on June 1st?

For an unemployed dude from Georgia? Always. :)

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. IV - It's all coming together

Wait. Aren't you from Wisconsin? Is that allowed? Do your neighbors know?

My wife doesn't drink beer either. Yeah we are freaks, we were meant for each other. I did work as a bartender while I was in college. I also worked one summer for a cheese maker, so that makes up for the no beer thing.

Freshman defenseman Reed Kluender from South St. Paul committed to UW before the rule change.

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. IV - It's all coming together

Technically committing really means nothing and it seems like he committed when he tweeted it today. But that would just mean he hasn't had contact since the start of the month.

So I guess we could see young commitments still this summer...
