I think it's the first time the Badgers have gone with the same skaters in consecutive games. Hayton instead of Berry makes it still a different lineup.

Defence is absolutely horrible. Does anybody cover the backside?

Hayton gets yanked but he only had a chance to save 1 of the 5 goals. Maybe Granato should sit some defencemen.

No... he's been average at best.


This game turned on our captain taking a needless offensive zone penalty on a 5 on 3.

He should sit.

Hayton has been the definition of "meh." Guarantee Rumpel/Gudmandson/Elliott would have saved more.

Sit a D for Greenway. Hughes needs to stop being an idiot. Scoring the tying goal would definitely make up for it.

Hughes got whacked in the back but you got to let it go. Easy for me to say though.

I'm with Rich though defense had been terrible. Hayton hasn't been great either.

On the 4 Hayton "couldn't" save... he's on his knees 8 feet from the crease on two so of course he has no chance. The two feeds from the wall to the net... He's gotta get his stick or a pad or something on at least one of those, probably both, the passes were right at the crease and that guy is not scoring from the wall especially with a guy hanging on him very often. His whole thing is supposed to be his quick lateral movement. Which he has. But he's either asleep or hurt or something because he looked slow as molasses on ice in there. I said pull him after the 4th.

But yes, terrible coverage on those, too.

Did they give Schierhorn his own whistle? About 2 minutes to go was the third time the puck's laying on on the ice in front and I hear one blow.

Badgers get back to work and they have a chance yet, but it's not looking too good, boys.

Agree re: Hayton; I don't see the All American in him, but he was helpless on 4 (I think) goals.

Lot's pipes being rung up tonight! I think the Badgers are winning the worthless stat of drawing iron 3-1.
