Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the problem!!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

It's unique in that there are some fans from both programs rooting for their own team to lose. Should make for a tremendous match up.

Badgers get 4 points.

Btw- the game is on BTN at 8 CST if anybody is wondering.
I guess some apathy is setting in on my part. In however many years the Badgers have been on the Wisconsin Channel, I still can't figure out how to get that on my TV (with rabbit ears since Uverse doesn't carry digital subchannels) and since I built my new PC, I can't even watch it online for whatever reason (I just get a black box where the video is supposed to play). As a result, I'm just conditioned for the game not to be on TV anymore...I think there has been 2 games or so that have been available on my TV so far this season...that I didn't even bother to check to see if last night's game was on.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I've always thought sending a bus from Wisconsin halfway across the country to pick up an athletic team from an airport was an odd way to do things, but it is what they usually do.

I wonder what other instances of the Athletic Dept stupidly squandering public money there are? Probably more than we care to know.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Is it just me, or is MM gotten so desperate that he has turned into a mite coach? Were Kunin, Hughes, & Besse out the entire game, or just every other shift. If those guys all come back next year and Eaves brings in his additional recruits and we have like 53 guys on the roster, will we have 3 guys play have the game and the other 50 get 30 seconds each in a game?

I wish TOI was kept for UW, it would be fascinating to see.

Except at UW the Athletic Department is self-funding.

Given that they have to get the equipment to the game location, and the cost of the renting a bus in he city, I wouldn't be surprised if driving the bus out isn't more cost effective. I'd hate to know what the cost would be to ship out all the hockey equipment if you wanted it to go on the plane with the players.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

An ineffective power play and a Patrick Sexton turnover are why UW lost this game.

Well I think this weekend week is the nail in the coffin.....

Ben Worgull tweeting Mark Johnson should get the job. I think that would be a huge mistake, but there are going to be many calls for him....

At this point the coffin has more metal than wood.

Eaves post-game quote: "We’re not ready yet but we’ll keep moving ahead.” I'm absolutely sick of this BS line. Just exactly where is this forward motion that you keep talking about? Save 2 games against a club team transitioning to D-1 we are exactly where we were last year. Were we significantly better tonight than we were last week against Michigan? or Alaska? or Minnesota? How about when we played at Michigan State earlier in the year? The weekends keep coming and going and it all looks the same to me.

Sorry to be the jack**s, but I've had it.

That may have been the dumbest thing I've ever posted....that's saying a lot.

Man, this team just can't get out of it's own way. They have such a propensity to come back from deficits and such a propensity to trip on their own shoelaces. It's maddening.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

What is he supposed to say?

How about just once acknowledging that the current approach isn't working and he's re-evaluating what they're doing as a coaching staff? I'm so tired of hearing about how much better we're getting, but that we're just not there yet.

I think I could answer the first question after next Friday's game right now, "You know, Brian, the guys worked really hard tonight. They battled all night and had some really good looks. Unfortunately, we just couldn't break through at the key moments. If you know anything about art history, you know that those masterpieces from the great masters weren't just painted overnight. Those guys worked and perfected those pieces over months and years. I told the guys tonight that we're doing that right now. We're just not quite ready to hang the painting in the gallery yet."

I haven't posted much in awhile because there's really not much to say. This is another year that's just ****ing terrible, and beers in the Kellner Club are about the only thing that make some of these weekends tolerable.

I've long jumped on the fire Eaves train, but I really want them to just pull the trigger now. Finishing the season is more than he deserves.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I'm n the UP this weekend and managed to sneak back to my room and watch 2 periods of the men's game Friday and 2 of the women Saturday...

Eaves' team is flat out atrocious. We deserve better than that. MUCH better. Over 1/2 that team would not be candidates to play for a championship level team. I know that's a bad thing to say but it's true.

On the women's side they looked decent but the whole losing to Minnesota consistently is getting very old.

So now I'm relinquishing all thought on MJ for the Men IF and only IF he gets good recruiters.

****ty weekend of hockey imo

Are you MM trying to get yourself fired?

They just swept the rodents a few months ago, it's not all doom and gloom. And getting Kessel back is almost like cheating.

...We deserve better than that. MUCH better...

Deserve? DESERVE?!?
What exactly have any of us done to "deserve" anything from this team, this coach, this administration?
We can expect, we can want, we can anticipate, we can hope, we can desire...
But deserve, we don't deserve anything

So **** yes we deserve better, and right gd now.

Edit: yeah that was emotional but hey, times are tough, you want us to continue donating then you better start fielding a winning product with the quickness

Are you serious?? The fans that shell out money deserve better. The fans that still give a **** about this team despite these terrible seasons deserve better.
