Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

14-15 schedule....UW opens in AK for 2 games, then is @ the Resch for 2 against NM, then there's another TBD road series and a bye in the next 2 weeks. UW's first home games are against the sue, what a opening series that will be. Other road games are @ DU & CC and MT at home. I like playing the old WCHA foes, hopefully the turnstiles will be a spinning. Info is per WSJ.

Hopefully that opening series against UND will get a little more interest than the home openers in the past two seasons. They're an old rival, and it's a rematch of that NCAA tournament game. It should be fun!

Hopefully that will help get people in the Kohl at the start of the year unlike some recent years

Lowering ticket prices a few bucks will get people in the building.

Especially in the upper deck. When they discounted those tickets last year, the response was huge, so hopefully they can make it a regular thing. Unfortunately, that probably just means doing it as a promotion for a handful of games, rather than making it a regular thing, but that's just my speculation.

I wasn't planning on attending any men's games last year, but the Black Friday sale lured me into watching UW lose to OSU Sat. night. That should be the price anytime, not just as specials. Perhaps the bean counters will look at the 3rd tier attendance numbers correlated to price.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

Agree...exhibition games should not be at full price. I understand the benefits of UW playing exhibition games against a high school team like the USDP, but I am buying season tickets to see college hockey.

This schedule is what I hoped for when we joined the Big10 and gained the flexibility of fewer conference games. Home series against North Dakota, BU, Michigan, & Minnesota are the series I expect. No offense to Nebraska-Omaha or Bemidji, but when those teams were added to the WCHA and the conference schedule increased in quantity and not quality. The last year of WCHA, for my Saturday night season tickets, the only high quality game I got was Miami...no Minnesota, no Denver, no North Dakota. Throw in a road trip to Colorado, and we get a good sampling of the elite of the old WCHA (North Dakota/Denver/CC/Minnesota) plus some of the elite from other conferences (Michigan four times and a series with BU) that we never seemed to have enough open OOC slots on the schedule to play.

Saturday ticket holders get charged for the exhibition game. Should be a reduced cost or free ticket IMO.

Wasn't it free or reduced a few years ago? I remember taking the boys to that game.

D Steph and McD live to fight another series. I'm rooting for the Canadians to advance, then lose to the Rangers. Bummer Suter and Heater were ousted by the flatlanders.

The FIBs ousted Suter, Heater and the team that didn't realize how awesome Elliott is. Jerks.

As long as the Habs win tonight, I'm adopting whomever comes out of the East.

I don't ever remember it being reduced.

I may have given you mine once? I never use them.

Gotta go with the Hawks because they have a Gopher (that's playing like crap), but the Canadiens might be acceptable since their big name forward is a Gopher (that only plays like crap about a third of the time). ;)

Back on topic: It is nice to see them commit to quality non-conference schedules. It really is the best way to keep our PWR prospects looking good.

That could very well be. It was from 2 yrs ago, I recall Zullinick scoring a nice goal.

I really like the high amount of n/c teams the b6 schedule affords and I like they are playing the AK teams and Tech. Ferris has a very good team, but the name itself won't be a good selling point. I'd like to see the b6 games sprinkled in throughout the year and not just so backloaded, though as it looks now like there's only 1 weekend open in Oct & Nov.

I too would like to see the B6 schedule stretched out more, but I'm sure they're doing it that way so they can cram the games on TV.
