I would love a solovsfett hiring, would bring alot of fire to the program. Where do we start the petition?
No offense intended, but I'm going with Bowman.

Count me in on the pass on Mark Johnson crowd. The reason he didn't get the job when Sauer got a gentle nudge out the door is because the program had deteriorated and Johnson as the lead assistant had a significant hand in the lackluster recruiting around that time. If you subtract out the 2 Heatley years (yes they did land him and he was an Eichelesque landscape changing talent....but he was a fall in your lap legacy recruit that you shouldn't screw up the recruitment of to begin with), Sauer had losing records 4 out the other last 6 years he was here with Johnson at his right hand. I have never understood the Johnson love that has been an undertow in the program from day one of Eaves being hired. I hope if Johnson doesn't get hired as Eaves replacement, that that same undertow is not there for the next coach.
I'm writing MJ off based on his recruiting. That's harsh to say but **** those years were pretty ugly and he certainly could have turned that ship around with great recruiting.
He was an amazing player for UW and team usa and a great player in the NHL, he's also become a great coach for the women's team. But given his experience as a recruiter for the men under Sauer I'd be skeptical at best...my thought would be it could turn into a Bart Starr/Packers situation if he were hired. How long would they retain him if he's .500 or worse? Probably longer than most due to history...

Congrats Rumps!
Let's look at the bright side, since the Badgers are not in the WCHA anymore, we didn't have to travel for the 1st round AGAIN like so many other times during Eaves tenure.
This use to really **** me off that Bucky couldn't finish in the top 5 of that conference every year.
But if you can hold Michigan to zero goals you never know...Instead we get to travel to Detroit for one game!

You never know, Red might get so frustrated he may decide to concede his goalie. Then it would be just a matter of one of your players being able to hit the empty net. What are they going to concede in the 4th overtime?

My daughter decided that Bucky looked silly without undergarments. Seemed apropos (or is it apropoos?), in light of all of the crapping on the floor this season.

I heard Eaves on the radio today say that the team is playing their best hockey right now just in time for the big 10 tourney. Really? What is he smokin because maybe he should share that with us idiot fans to ease our suffering?
Shut out in 5 of 7 games is the best this team has?
I just checked the barn and there is no hay in it.
The UW coaching staff has been preaching improvement to the media and fans over the second half of the season. The only problem? This team hasn't been getting any better.
Over Wisconsin's final seven games of the season, the Badgers had an 0-6-1 record and were shut out in five of seven games. UW scored just four total goals and were 1-for-26 on the power play with an atrocious kill-rate of 74 percent on the PK.
Even if you tried, it's hard to have numbers worse than that.
"While our record the last few months doesn't indicate it, this team has been making improvements and giving their best effort, both in games and in practice. I don't know what is going to happen this weekend, but I know the 19 kids who take the ice thursday in Detroit have nothing to lose, and are going to give it their all. I'm proud of them."
