Capo just tweeted they are approaching 11k tonight and 14k for tomorrow in ticket sales.

This is all great. I just really hope the team performs well....because that will be the best thing to keep these crowds coming back for more.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

PP tweak...Schulz is on the #1 unit at the point w/McCabe. Hopefully they move the puck quickly and can work the back door. Drake is on #2 with Frankie.

Little is back as well.

Promotions....I'm not a techie at all, so I can't explain how/why, but when I'm surfing the web now, I'm seeing way more UW adds for hockey in the margins of the screen than ever before and my surfing sites are all still the same as they have been for years.

Attendance....it sure looks like the B6 big name hockey teams are drawing now and it's not just the promotions. I wonder if the B6 can somehow increase the number of league games per season. Maybe play some combination of teams with 2H/2A, and some teams 2H/4A and 4H/2A. And also scatter the B6 games throughout the season and not backload it. If UW played UM and OSU in Nov/Dec it may have got some positive momentum going on the attendance front vs grinding through un**** matchups for 3 months and creating more apathy in the fans. It will be interesting when the season is done to analyze the B6 head to head attendance numbers vs the old ccha/wcha numbers.

I'm really looking forward to attending Sat's game with an almost full house thanks to the Black Friday sale.

I'm looking forward to seeing Schulze qb the pp.

I don't know exactly how those banner ads are done, but based on where you browse the web, companies who buy ad space can give you ads relevant to your recent searches and web activity. People browsing Wisconsin Athletics sites tuned in to the ad systems (these are not technical terms). will start seeing the banner ads that the athletic department puts out. It's probably similar to the way Google Adsense works, but less boringly.

What are these ads you speak of? I have just about all of them blocked. Anyway, attendance-wise, the second half has always been better attended. Just like the Athletic Department, the attention of the masses turns to hockey once football has finished their season.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Crease Creatures twitter says Student tickets for Saturday are now sold out.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Glad to hear of good ticket sales- that's what I was hoping to see. Crease Creature sell out for Saturday is especially awesome.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Would be nice to see the team match the crowd's energy. Hasn't happened so far after one. 5 minutes on the power play coming up empty and needing Rumpel to stop a short-handed breakaway. Then the Buckeyes score 20 seconds into their power play. Very frustrating.....

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Badgers seemed to turn on the switch midway through the second after getting down 2-1 by giving up another PP goal. Much better effort and some good bounces get them a 2-1 lead going into third.

Looks like a really good sized crowd from what I can see on TV.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

UW looked like they flipped a switch when they scored the 2nd goal. I was worried tosu might sneak some points out of tonight.

great job Dahl, Schulze (they compared him to Rafalski on tv...if he can add the stretch pass up the middle he'd be almost an exact replica of #3), Rumpel and really the entire team.

great to see Soleway and Zulinick get rewarded w/goals tonight!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Very entertaining game, though I scared the dog yelling at the TV after we gave up a short-handed goal with a 2-goal late in the game. Nice response to get the 5th goal to end the drama though the last minute was pretty crazy.

I think we helped you guys quite a bit with stupid mistakes by our net. Just wish Faust hadn't needlessly slashed our best player in the back of the leg with seconds left.

And we cashed those mistakes in accordingly. Thank you.

While I can't defend the Faust slash, Oddo did dump Dahl into the boards headfirst for a game misconduct.

I think that Wisconsin-Ohio State could build a hockey rivalry like the football and basketball programs.

I'll give you Oddo's penalty but I don't think it was bad enough (thankfully no injury) to get the ejection. If we lose Dzingle our ability to compete against you will take a serious hit. I wouldn't complain if the slash was an accident but it looked pretty deliberate.

It looked like a stick to the head/neck area of Faust preceded his slash.
