Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

It was much more fun that we did in front of the Gopher fans than you mouth breathers, but that both of you were there and paid to watch us win is kinda fun. :)

There weren't a lot of Sioux fans at the final. There were a lot of grumpy gopher fans.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

What scares me is that I see him as tremendously more ready for the NHL than Turris was.

I would not have said before January, he was weak over his skates and taking more hits than dishing, but the last 2 months he's been a lot stronger on his skates and has gone out of his way to dish out some hits, it's like someone threw the switch. He's going to be a beast next year, especially with his linemates both coming back.

I really miss Lee in the line-up. Mersch has gone cold with Woods at center. Woods is a lot like Mersch and not much like Lee, there's no creator on that line anymore. Is Besse a natural center or wing type of player?

Mersch has 6 goals and 10 points in the 9 games Lee has been out. He also has the second most shots, which means he's getting the puck in good spots. He wasn't good in St. Paul, but had been playing well the previous three weekends.

That said, Lee is great and definitely missed. His return (if it happens) would add more depth by Woods playing on that fourth line where he can add offense.

Besse is more of a wing...has been playing on his off hand with Benilde.

TimeWarner Cable Sports 32 will air the Wisconsin-Lowell game Friday.

Per twitter, TVW in Madison will air Friday's game vs Lowell. I had to look this up, but apparently it is WISC's digital subchannel. Those rabbit ears may come in handy after all!

You're not playing with my emotions, are you?

I get that, and I get the hair gel. But the buggers scamper around a lot, don't they? How do them Minnies catch em without, you know, losing interest first?

They use fainting goats, much easier to catch. That way they are much closer to gopher height also.

That has always been the assumed expectation, only time will tell if thats how events turn out.

You have to look at the Ducks right now, there prospect pool is very crowded. a couple trades and Teemu calling it quits can change that in a hurry but right now Anaheim has some NHL ready forwards still in the minors because of the simple fact there isn't any ice time available for them. So I think Kerdiles will likely be at wisco for 2-3 years. I don't believe they drafted him thinking he would be ready in 1-2 years... he was more of a long term type prospect...

i hope the assumption is right myself, but with the badger revolving door and underclassman leaving early over the past few years i count on nobody coming back

Did you really think that Minnesotans would treat watching Badger hockey like Wisconsinites?
