Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

I've used nothing other than facts to state my position. You do have far less history than us. You dropped your program for nearly 30 years. What traditions define UW hockey? I have yet to have anyone give me anything concrete. All that comes to mind for me and those I know is being propped up by Minnesota.

Yes, you have more NCAA titles. But like I said, you have far less conference titles and Frozen Four appearances. You got lucky. Congrats. IMO UW is still a plug-n-play program.

Why am I mentioning all this? Apparently some in your fanbase have no interest in playing Mankato, Bemidji, or St Cloud. For some reason those programs are unworthy of playing UW. Well, I just thought I'd remind you that many Minnesota fans feel the same way about playing UW.

I guess it's ok for you to be honest about whom you're too good/important to play, but it's not cool for me to be honest about whom I (and many others) feel UMN is too good/important to play, ha? Is that because my list includes UW?

There is absolutely nothing special about UW hockey. I'm sorry.
I've heard that AAU title was all luck.

I've heard that AAU title was all luck.

Perfect 18-0 season. But that title is irrelevant to my point.

I have no problem with this topic of discussion, but I don't think the UW fans like it. I made my point. I can move on whenever everyone else is ready.

This dude is like the gopher hockey equivalent of one those guys that hangs out around the Summerfest gates with gigantic signs proclaiming that we're all going to hell.

He has no idea how much everyone* dislikes him, how little anyone* cares about what he has to say or how pathetic he is for acting like such a **** on a daily basis.

* This is even true for people who might agree with part of what he's saying. In the case of the Summerfest evangelists, I'm a Christian and I can't stand them. Meanwhile, not even gopher fans can stand JDUBBS. (Probably why he wastes time here instead of spending his time being less of a ****rag)

And yet, again, I'm not the one making personal attacks.

So I assume my assumption was right that (in your little world) it is alright for you to look down on other programs, but it's not alright when others look down on yours?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

I've never heard of someone calling 6 National Titles lucky. Actually, I've never heard someone say 1 National Title was lucky let alone 6. It's beyond an absolute joke to say Badger Bob's teams were "lucky" and for that matter you'd have to extrapolate that Denver w/Armstrong and Gwoz and UND are "lucky" w/their 7 NCAA Championships and are also "Plug N' Play" programs.

let's talk about luck for a moment shall we? this is so awesome. UW 24 tourney appearances. 12 Frozen Fours. so 50% of the time they make the NCAA's they get to the Frozen Four. **** good, eh? of those 12 Frozen Fours they advanced to the Title game 9 times, or 75% of the time. **** good, eh? of those 9 championship games they're 6-3, pretty **** good for a "lucky, plug and play program".

Anyway as fact there isn't another state like MN for hockey, well great, good tradition good for Jdubbs and mariucci (he's still here right?). but the rest of the world doesn't give 2 ****s where their players come from and if I had my say I'd tell Eaves to recruit 100% Canadians and let em come in and mop the floor w/the rats every weekend they play.

to say Wisconsin is propped up by Minnesota is funny. how? cause they have 5-6 kids from that state on any given year? yeah UW had some MN kids on the 83 and 90 champ teams, are you bitter MN lost w/all MN kids to Harvard or what? UW also had kick-*** WI players like John Byce and Dennis Snedden on that 90 team. we can go round and round on this

here's the stat that matters to me more than WI developing HS talent (cause it won't ever come close to MN there, the populace in this state to my chagrin long ago chose football and basketball, hockey is a distant 4th place at best here): 6>5. done. and I hope it to be 7>5 before to long and then 8>5, and let rats fans cry all they want about in-state talent being better than UW recruiting every state in the U.S. and each province in Canada if they feel necessary, you can't argue against 6>5 until or unless your formula works better and it hasn't

anyone have video of that 1981 championship game? that would be absolutely killer to watch right now! or how about 83 when UW pasted Harvard?

Solo - I think you're missing my entire point. If you're going to be mad at someone, be mad at Gurt and others who said Mankato, Bemidji, St Cloud aren't worthy of UW's time. Essentially all I am saying is that I feel (and many Gopher fans have long felt) the same way about UW.

Or again, is it only insulting when someone says it about your program?

And I stand by everything I've said. All based on facts. Nothing I've said has been refuted with anything other than insults.

See? Genital warts.

Why again is anyone engaging him?

Maybe even herpes.

Funny true fact, I'm typing this as I sit on the pot. I'm about to wipe my *** while thinking of Dubber and BSU, SCSU and Mankato. :D

I really wish that I was sick of using this one whenever he comes around, but it never stops being what comes to mind.

UW isn't too good play anyone. That's the lesson you should be learning ;)

Another lesson everyone should be learning...

How to ignore a poster:

1. Click on "Settings" in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
2. On the left hand side, under "My Account", click on "Edit Ignore List"
3. In the box where it says "Add a member to your list", start to type the name of the poster you wish to ignore
4. A drop down list should appear with potential candidates, select the one you want to ignore
5. Click "Okay"
6. Relax, and now enjoy your time on this board without the troll!

:)

You're missing Gurts point, he did not say those schools were not worthy of UW's time, he said they weren't worthy of his time.

JDUBBS1280;5435984]I've used nothing other than facts to state my position. You do have far less history than us.

Having more history does not mean better history. UM has had 30 more years of hockey than UW and 1 less NCAA title.

But like I said, you have far less conference titles and Frozen Four appearances. You got lucky.

I'll take NCAA titles over conference titles and Frozen Four "appearances" without winning the title any day.

There is absolutely nothing special about UW hockey.

I think Chelios, M Johnson, Driver, Cujo, Richter, Suter x4, Ranheim, Tuttle, Granato, Eaves, Gwozdecky, Elliott, Heatly, Maley, Rafalski, etc. etc. might disagree with you. 6 NCAA titles and 1 Hobey winner is pretty special in my book.

You guys can thank this guy for keeping this going....

Your program has gotten lucky IMO. And in those 30 years UW was without a program, the Gophers won a national title. We don't and shouldn't apologize for having more history than you.

And naming a bunch of Canadians and Minnesotans as what is "special" about your program? Did you read my points in my previous posts? All programs have great alums. What makes your program "special"???

Again, i've made my point. I don't need to keep rehashing this debate, but UW isn't too good to play anyone.

Guys, we're arguing with a guy who stays up all hours of the night to argue with a fanbase that "isn't worth his time". At this point, I'm not even sure that he's a real person and not a Spambot created by some dickbag computer science majors at Minnesota.
