Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Guys, we're arguing with a guy who stays up all hours of the night to argue with a fanbase that "isn't worth his time". At this point, I'm not even sure that he's a real person and not a Spambot created by some dickbag computer science majors at Minnesota.

Or....

Next to the reputation icon is a report post icon. Everyone should take a moment and report him for trolling and continue to do so whenever he trolls here.

Make the admins take action or at least get sick of hearing from us.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the occasional troll post from people who are actually entertaining. This clown is a bore though that even his own people can't stand.

Report his posts.

Yet, I don't need to make personal attacks to make a valid point. In any world where UW is too good to play SCSU, Mankato, and Bemidji, then in that world UMN is definitely too good to play UW. I've made my point. I'll let ya'll decide when we move on.

I am not trolling. I am having a discussion, and I haven't resorted to any personal attacks. And I offered to drop the topic.

Maybe the admins will be interested in some of the crude things you guys have said about me.

You're not. You're trolling and attempting to have the last word. You're purposefully being an annoyance.

I think the admins might see that the group is reacting in a similar fashion to a common annoyance. Anyone who is objective could see that YOU are the problem here, not the rest of us. And if not...

I'd gladly take a week off if it would get you permanently banned.

So if you truly feel you've made your point, why you are still posting in the thread? You're like a guy who finished paying for his groceries but is still in the store. You can leave, you know.

I don't mind the discussion. I actually enjoy these discussions about history, tradition, ect. However, I understand that not everyone likes these discussions.

If people want to continue discussing this topic, I would be thrilled to participate. However, if people would prefer to drop it and move on, I won't bring it up again.

Ithas nothing to do with having the last word. If it's an active topic, I have as much right as others to participate in the discussion.

And Gurt, I don't want to see anyone banned. It's just a message board. No need to get worked up because our opinions differ.

Just let the guy have the last word so we can all move on. If it is of such great important to him and such a noteworthy achievement he can even hang a banner in commemoration for all I care.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Burd is not a particularly bright guy, given to simpleness bordering on what many would call "slow." He is up at dawn on this day, excited to get the boat loaded and on the water, because he has heard that the slopeheads are biting. After two pulls on the old 9.8 merc, it sputters to life, and he is on his way toward the patch of reeds out by the point. No wind. The water is like glass. You might expect to hear a last loon call at a moment like this, but they don't come to this Wisconsin lake due to a lack of loon tradition. Burd has heard recordings of them, though, sent to him by his even more dimwitted cousin from over in Brainerd, and he imagines the haunting sound as he heads out toward the reeds.

Burd is happy. He is also excited. His fingers tremble a little as he slows the motor to a crawl and reaches for his gear. Burd may be slow by most people's standards, but he has an intuitive understanding of fishbait. He takes out a shiny new Daredubber and attaches it to a 10-inch leader. He wants his presentation to have a broad enough appeal to maybe bring in a Schwartzkie or a Large Mouth Gurt. There are also good sized sucker fish in this patch that cook up pretty well, like solovsfish. Burd flips the lure out behind him and lets out a little line. Not much, though--Daredubbers are shallow bait. He puts his feet up on the bench seat in front of him and slouches back against the barely vibrating merc. He pulls his cap down lower over his eyes. The sun is up just enough to give a little warmth in the quiet morning air. He is already drowsy and barely notices a sign attached to a post recently driven next to the weeds: No Trolling here by order of the Gurtstapo. Burd has never heard of the Gurtstapo and thinks they must be talking to someone else. He lets out a few more feet of line and closes his eyes. Life is good.

Straight to the top line, eh? Well, he does seem like a good talent, that's for sure.

Craig Smith started his freshman year on the wing with Blake Geoffrion on the top line. Mark Zengerle started his freshman year on the wing with Craig Smith. I'm seeing a trend here...

Malone on a line with Kerdiles?

If Seamus Malone is at Wisconsin at the same time as Nic Kerdiles it's either because he accelerated to come in a year early, or they are working out together in the summer. I'd be shocked if Kerdiles was here for four years...but I've been shocked before I suppose. Now if you had said Besse, that's another story.

Stepan and Turris the years prior.

JDUBBS in this thread is like UMD fans when it comes to the UND nickname - apparently he's compelled to come in here for no good reason.

Yet, I don't need to make personal attacks to make my points ;)

And FYI - This is a message board, not private property. I think I have as much right to participate in this thread as anyone else.
