Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

I think you could classify your correction under the "whine about it, cry about it" category.

I sense that you are the type of guy who, at age 40, crashes a college party. You end up going around, telling everyone how awesome college was when you went and how everything was much better back in your day. In fact, your stupid college played a particularly popular drinking game before even God himself knew it existed and goshdarnit, you deserve respect for that. At first, no one really gives a **** because you are a just some lonely loser talking out of his *** about something no one cares about. But unfortunately for the world, you are a persistent fellow. You are offended that your stupid opinions are disrespected and unwanted so you man up, drink two winecoolers and become belligerently drunk. You then challenge the people at the party to play some stupid ****ing game no one cares about, to prove your mettle. Surprisingly, the people at the party have not kicked you out yet, although publicly, everyone wishes the owner of the house would because you are just a stupid troll. No one steps up to the "challenge" because they are there to have fun and jest amongst themselves and do not want to enter an eternal circle jerk with some social reject.

Long story short, by the end of the night you are passed out in some garbage cans out back, covered in what can only be described as your own ignorance and shame. In the end, nothing has changed. Same as before the party began, no one gives a flying **** about your opinions and you are even less respected by your "own" people.

JDUBBS is actually Brett Belema?

Hey, you're the guy making personal attacks :)

Since JDUBBS was the last poster. I had to take a quick peek. :)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Almington again.

+1 :) But from what I have heard, Barry usually comes to the rescue before he passes out in the garbage cans out back.

You forgot about the never slept with a woman part. Otherwise, nailed it!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Quite telling that the actual points I've made have not and can not be disputed by you all except with personal attacks and slander.

I'm sorry if it hurts feelings and gets people bent out of shape, but most people don't think hockey when you say UW. You did drop your hockey program for nearly 30 years, you haven't won nearly as many conference championships or made nearly as many Frozen Fours as other schools many would consider traditional powers. You don't have any real tradition I can think of (or that you have been able to describe) beyond relying heavily on Minnesota to prop up your program.

So I'm sorry, but I see very little difference between you disrespecting the Mankato's, Bemidji's, and St Cloud's of the world with your honest opinions about playing them and my honest opinions about playing UW.

Ho-Hum. Put me to sleep.

Until you can prove that you've slept with a woman (no, relatives don't count), it's not slander. It's fact.

No one's bent out of shape that you don't respect our program (although deep down, you do). Even if you united all of Gopher nation and got each and every one of them to sign a writ of disrespect, even then, we wouldn't care.

We don't need validation from anyone outside of our program. It's sad that you do for your program coz you guys are definitely top 10 all time. Maybe even top 7 or so.

Hahaha.... Whooooooosh!

I think you missed my entire point. UW Hockey is insignificant. We don't care what you think. You made the statement that you'd rather not play dull programs like mankato, Bemidji, and St Cloud. I made the statement that many people consider UW to be as petty and as bland of a program.

It was a statement. Your thoughts on the statement are quite insignificant to me ;)

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

For the Badger hockey program having no history and apparently being "insignificant", this dude sure spends a lot of time trolling the UW message boards and sending me offensive tweets from his multiple twitter accounts.

What can I say. The existence of your program is insulting to me. Probably the same way Europeans look at US soccer fans. And I am never rude or offensive. I don't believe in personal attacks. So you must have me confused with someone else.

Wisconsin Hockey - The world's biggest oxymoron.

Barry is like the uncle you call to get you out of trouble because he has done it all before and won't tell your parents what happened.

No, there isn't.

He's just trying to troll and really isn't very good at it.

Most people, including his own fanbase (and women everywhere) ignore him now, so he misses the attention.

I'll say it though, I'd rather stay home than go to see Mankato, SCSU, BSU, Tech or Omaha. I think after having tickets for so many years, one can get a bit jaded. I'm the same way with my football tickets - which is why we sell most of our games now. Just can't go see us play Northern Iowa, or Indiana for that matter.

Been to way too many games. What's gonna happen that I haven't seen a hundred times?

That's why I'm actually looking forward to the new conference.

As far as the off season goes, go Brewers?

totally agree w/you on the football. I'm tired of the non-con pushovers. and I agree re: hockey vs Mankato, SCSU, BSU and Omaha (not much to get up for there save for the years SCSU had Parrish and Cullen). Tech I enjoy as I love the history (well the 70's history at least)

I'm not much of a baseball fan but I do cheer for both the Brewers and White Sox when the games are on

you're off the rails man, really. It's probably best if you stop posting in this thread as it's a pretty ignorant thing to say that UW has "no history". they can be "blah" to you as a fan, fine that's your .02, but seriously, find something real to rip UW on (if that's your goal) cause you're going to get a whole lot of 6>5 and 4>3 thrown in your face and if you want to consider MN the center of the hockey universe (and expect others to feel the same way) people may wonder then why the young upstarts to the East have more of the essential hardware etc., etc.,

I've used nothing other than facts to state my position. You do have far less history than us. You dropped your program for nearly 30 years. What traditions define UW hockey? I have yet to have anyone give me anything concrete. All that comes to mind for me and those I know is being propped up by Minnesota.

Yes, you have more NCAA titles. But like I said, you have far less conference titles and Frozen Four appearances. You got lucky. Congrats. IMO UW is still a plug-n-play program.

Why am I mentioning all this? Apparently some in your fanbase have no interest in playing Mankato, Bemidji, or St Cloud. For some reason those programs are unworthy of playing UW. Well, I just thought I'd remind you that many Minnesota fans feel the same way about playing UW.

I guess it's ok for you to be honest about whom you're too good/important to play, but it's not cool for me to be honest about whom I (and many others) feel UMN is too good/important to play, ha? Is that because my list includes UW?

There is absolutely nothing special about UW hockey. I'm sorry.
